From the horse's mouth

"Dear All,

Silver Treasure has been declared to run in the 14:50 (French time) on Thursday at Fontainebleau. He has been drawn in stall 3 of 11 and Ioritz Mendizabel rides. It is a Listed race, so a bit above us potentially, but has good prize money on offer and it will enhance the horse's value if he can finish third or fourth. He has had a good season the horse and I felt that it was worth taking a shot at a bigger target as he will keep his maiden status, which is earning him good money at present.

Many thanks,

Amy Weaver.

Should be longish odds for a place in this one, but will be tomorrow before the odds are released I imagine.

The horse's value will be enhanced. https://www.racebets.com/en/horse-racing/race/details/id/1039596/

PGC. Many thanks. We had a great day. Leaving ED at 5 was a bit earlier than my usual. 3rd was fantastic as it means you get "black type" in the breeders manuals as being placed in a Listed race and hence it helps the value.

Not sure about next step but probably won't run until April next year. Thanks for reading. May post link if I can find it.

Trainer Amy pronounces herself very excited about Silver Treasures prospects. She normally plays down expectations so we might have decent prospects this year. March probably means France again though as England flat starts later.

Dear All,

Silver Treasure has settled back into the routine really nicely. He has completed his second week trotting and seems to have grown and strengthened up from last season. I am very excited about running him this year and I will make a plan for him when we see what races are available for him in early March.

BTW. I have had the winnings through from last year's races and after paying the training fees we have a bit left to cover Jan and Feb training costs. Therefore it's been self financing so far, which is fantastic.

Trainers pre season blog today....

Looking ahead to the turf season we have exciting horses such as old favourite Tariq Too to look forward to, plus the potentially high class Silver Treasure who was Listed placed last season and unknown quantities such as D'Arcy Indiana who could be a dark horse thio

She seems keen on Silver Treasure. Goose bumps.

Confirmed for Thursday. Horse is apparently in great shape but its up against some decent opposition apparently. Eurostar is booked! :)

Dear All,

Silver Treasure has been declared to run in the 14:20 (French time) at Longchamp on Thursday. He has been drawn in stall 8 of 9 and Ioritz Mendizabal had been booked to ride. It is the fourth race on the card.

P.S. It looks a pretty warm race despite being only a maiden, but Silver Treasure has good form also so will hopefully run a big race.

Many thanks,

Amy Weaver.

    • I struggled with the parakeets literally decimating the bird feeders within an hour.  I tried squirrel proof ones to see if they helped, but they jammed their claws in the mechanism to stop it closing.  Then the pigeons managed to do the same.  I spent a long time researching the best ideas and came across something on Pinterest.  Someone had used a metal dog cage and attached it to a wooden platform.  So that's what I did!  Once set up, you just hang the feeders inside.  Large birds like pigeons and parakeets cannot get inside.  I get all the small birds, plus starlings.  Not many thrushes or blackbirds around, so have no idea if they could get in.  The squirrels do!  It's amazing watching them slide through narrow gaps.  I also covered the roof of the cage with a piece of plastic to keep the rain off, plus I am just about to replace the cage plastic base with something more mesh like.  It can get a bit gooey after a while, so with mesh, all the dropped seed from the messy goldfinches, will go on to the ground where the pigeons can clear up.  I even added a birdcam.
    • Yep, of course I do - did you not read the bit from the survey about the noise having a negative impact on foraging bats? And like @Angelina I'm aware it affects other people, and if no one complains then it gives them an argument that's it's all ok.  The tree in question was a cherry that everyone loves, didn't need to be touched, and the council admitted was a mistake and shouldn't have happened.  The council and Gala use the 'local' narrative as a benefit, without any figures to back it up. It is used as an argument for the event to go ahead, when there's no basis of fact. The attendees are clearly not local as they've proved they don't give a **** about the area. The council do tell us where the money is spent - 100% on running the Events dept, and a myriad of unlisted free events. They just don't tell us how much, so that we can make an informed decision on whether the gain is with the pain.  Sorry, what was your point again?
    • Leon came this evening and did a small job.  He was able to fit me, which I’m grateful for.  He arrived when he said he would. Very professional & friendly guy, offered great advice and very reasonable prices.  Highly recommend Leon! 👍
    • Thanks, that's quite big, isn't it?
