BBC Business is good on website

City AM is economically dry but some decent daily bigger picture stuff

Most business sections in the Broadsheets are reasonable

Reuters if you want to go a bit more micro/detailed

Anything by Hamish McRae

....and, I suppose, Will Hutton :)

Seeking Alpha can be useful source, perhaps more for company and market (rather than economic) news: You can set up alerts for companies as well, if he needs to track any specific stocks.

Plus they do transcripts of earnings calls which may give him an insight into how listed companies go about reporting results, and the sorts of questions analysts ask etc.

For easy reading, Felix Salmon: http://blogs.reuters.com/felix-salmon/

And Robert Peston is well connected: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/correspondents/robertpeston/

Also the FT of course, if you don't want to pay try their free Alphaville blog: http://ftalphaville.ft.com/

Then there's nakedcapitalism http://www.nakedcapitalism.com/ which is more opinionated

That should get you started, you'll find loads of links to others from there

Max Keiser and Stacy Herbert's radio show 'The Truth About Markets' on Resonance FM, Saturdays 6.30-7.30pm. (104.4 FM within London or listen online at http://resonancefm.com.) Also TV show 'The Keiser Report' on Russia Today (channel 85, if you can get it, or just look for 'Keiser Report' on youtube). The style may be somewhat histrionic, but Max and Stacy do know their stuff!

    • Thanks Sue.  No the car just drove on.  We don't know if they noticed.  We were driving behind.  We were just glad we could be with the cat, and take him to the vet, rather than leaving him there 😞
    • Certainly the infamous (and mythical) SE London cat killer turned out to be foxes attacking dying and dead cats injured by cars, but fox: cat encounters do appear to happen, even where cats are victorious. Fox: adult humans less so. At least where foxes are the aggressors.
    • That was very kind of you to take the cat to the vet. Did the car not stop?
    • This is a bit outside our area, but I'm posting in case .... Last night (Sat.20 Dec), around 10.30, we saw a cat hit by a car in St Norbert Road, SE4.  We took him to the out of hours vet in Beckenham, where they confirmed that he had died.  They will see if he is microchipped, and contact the owner if so.  They were very kind.   He was a lovely cat, grey and white.  He must have died very quickly.  So sorry to be the bearer of bad news 😞 The vet is Medivet in Beckenham, tel: 0208 650 2003.
