I was on 37 bus saturday 7pmish or bit later when at Herne Hill it got totally stuck and then diverted in mayhem of police vans, cars and sirens and fast moving big 'groups' of young men. I'd assumed it was a firework up a sheep's bum incident but now it all mkes sense.

Was Keef the leader of the gang causing the disturbance then? >:D<

I just don't see how anyone can be bothered with violence after a smoke. I can barely be arsed to stand up!

Yeah I?ve never got that either.

?Wanna fight??

?No thanks I think I?ll just sit here and eat these marshmallows thanks. Has anyone seen my fags? Ooh look a butterfly. Where? No not heard of it mate. Thank god for these shades. Funny things faces don?t you think? Have you ever listened to the way Hendrix uses a wah pedal? No I mean really listened. Hey do you think we can get some more marshmallows??

ha ha, "conspicuously flash clothes". What the hell?

I remember my mate getting stopped at gun point by armed police, the full hands on head, lie down, guns pointed at him sort.

His crime, he'd dampened a passer by with one of these while doing a 'drive-by' at his mate at 2 miles an hour.

I dread to think how that story grew in the retelling by witnesses.

"..he'd just mowed down an old lady and some schoolchildren crossing the road with his AK47. I think he was on crack you know, if you'd seen his eyes..."

surely lambeth country fair (also a regular fave with us at feelgood towers) gives away in the title that all wildlife shall be on show...just trying to make light here. before the PC brigade hit i'm having a laugh.

a friend who is not used to these parts of the world and has heard of the perils of south london of course had to be stuck on the 37 caught in the middle of the riot. what i love is that she describes how all the people on the bus were screaming at the driver to "f**king get up on the pavement and drive away, FAST".

B..B.. But dc, I don't understand...?

Surely the story of the three gangs armed to the teeth, all with knives having a full on brawl outside Cafe Prov and getting broken-up by riot police would have been of more interest to the South London Press than the ferret racing?

Jocelyn, it seems that certain other forumities disbelieve us about the goings on on Half Moon Lane last Saturday night.

Next time you feel like coming onto the forum to tell others about an experience you witnessed or indeed had, best to keep it to yourself. For Gosh and bother, they would rather hear about the more genteel, more 'worthy' happenings in the leafy borough that is our East Dulwich

IT GETS WORSE

This from the urban75 forum:

There was some trouble on saturday as well, in herne hill , police chasing about 60 youths down half moon lane, shops steamed and raided, pretty terrifying by all accounts. we have graffiti daubed around the area and sainsbury had a door kicked in and glass smashed. knives were found in the half moon pub apparrently.

Will someone please call the South London Press IMMEDIATELY - they have missed a trick here, surely..?

    • Big recommendation for Stephen Viccary who has created a magnificent bathroom for us. Quality of work is absolutely top notch. We couldn't be happier - see pics.  Stephen is considerate and tidy meaning working from home during the work was fine (some noise - obviously, it is a demo and installation after all. He does not work on multiple jobs, does a full days work and does ALL the work himself - Tiling, plumbing, lighting (including lighting on a motion sensor under the vanity and in the shower niche - for night time visits 😉), he even changed the door architraves, sorted the badly cracked ceiling and did all the paint work. A full end to end service. Stephen's number - 07941 266 145
    • Highly recommend Dulwich Eco Gardening.  When he came to quote Saied said he’d give our garden back so we could decide what we do next.  Under two weeks of hard work from Saied and Mo and we have the garden back and can see paving I’d forgotten about. Not only did Saied remove our very overgrown greenery. Nature had taken over. He also took back to our fence line overgrown ivy, apple and pear trees and and dealt with a neighbours bamboo that had invaded our garden.  We are now going to get quotes for what we do next so those quoting will be able to see the space.  Saied has suggested someone to quote and will be coming back when he does in case he has any questions or they can work together.  I thought Saied would be a good choice and he was. Quotes from others didn’t leave me with confidence for the end result. That was never a concern with Saied.
    • Having a BBQ (fingers crossed) in 2 weeks and need a small BBQ for veggie bits and any spare benches or garden tables and chairs to borrow to add to mine. Any going? Thanks in advance...
