So you are an Estate Agent without a shop. The OP said you were an online only estate agent, hence the confusion.

I have bought and sold houses before without ever having been to an estate agent's shop.

Maybe you should call yourselves "No Shops" instead of "No Flies" ;)

Given the additonal info I cant see that you are much different from a normal estate agent excpet that you are significantly cheaper. Good luck!

I don't think you've got the hang of this, katanita. It should go something like:

"Having tried many of the established estate agencies in East Dulwich, I was left feeling crushed and devalued. Finally I found No Flies agency - they were like a breath of fresh air, and they really valued me as a client and as a person."

Dammmmmnn. You're quite right. And I should be using this post to get all defensive about my true identity as one of the directors of No Flies and accuse everyone of pursuing personal vendettas.

I'll get it right next time, promise, and remember to add the requisite telltale spelling mistakes and bizarre punctuation.

If I were ever to sell-up there would be nobody in the running except for Brendan. I thought "estate agent with integrity" was an oxymoron before meeting him. If you search for "No Flies" on the EDF then you will find plenty of recommendations from satisfied customers and I predict many more to come. Yes, they face challenges in the future but who doesn't.

A good idea. Although I'm very familiar with that classic thread already. Amazing.

Oh. No, I thought I was just continuing the joke!

Matthew123 as well. As for Mikecg, i thought he was gone long before that.

mcg was an oddbod. actually a nice enough fella who could contribute to a debate, but a short fuse, terrible bass youtube uploads, and some very big shoulder-based chips were his undoing.

...that and the concerted campaign enlisting hackers to break the forum with DoS attacks and the like....

Ah - I knew he had one friend.

They are advertising on the forum on the left-hand side banner, the name makes more sense - very clever. I've only ever heard good things about them too and I think they way they respond to queries on the forum is excellent.

Sadly, I'm old enough to remember when Virgin Records first opened for business (70s). That seemed like an outrageous name at the time but these days nobody bats an eyelid at an odd moniker (Orange, Apple, O2, Smeg, R Soles, Yahoo, Google, Flickr). Odd.

No, that is street art.

    • For some strange reason, hubby likes to spend 'big' on family cards birthday and Christmas. I think it may have stemmed from his mother- she equated money with status and was a bit of a snob!  She was also quite eccentric - we asked for a suitcase one year and got a set of 4. One year she gave hubby the equivalent of a hearing aid - it was a device to hear bird song. Nobody we know send expensive cards. We have a twice yearly set of cards from the Foot and Mouth Painting Artists and have done for the last 30 plus years. I think they are around £12 for set of 10  - cannot remember what we paid this winter but they are fantastic value and beautiful paintings.  One of the best places around to buy cards is the Fair Trade Centre at Christ Church Barry Road. Fantastic selection with a starting price of £1.30.
