verds
It's getting harder to persuade my 20-month-old into her pram. She does the banana-octopus-shape thingy and screams her head off.I do let her walk sometimes, but as we live on the main road I'm not always keen.I remember letting my first one walk everywhere at that age, but I don't have the nerve to keep an eye on two of them on the loose! Has anyone got any advice on how to get through these tricky last few months of needing a pram? Would a trike make the journey more exciting? Vanessa3
Definitely a trike or a scooter - one of my boys were out of the pram at a similar age & insisted on scooting because his big brother did. At that age they don't mind being towed with a strap - it's all better than a pram. Belle
Hmm I'm having similar problems, especially when it comes to the school run (see my thread about slings!). Mine is ok to scoot now but can't be trusted not to zoom off int he wrong direction - then throws a proper terrible 2 yr old tantrum when he's yanked back. He can escape from the buggy too so there is no long-term tethering solution. I am just going with bribes in the buggy for now, but going to borrow a back carrier to see if that's any better. Adam
We have a buggy board attached to our Maclaren which our toddler loves. It was meant for his 5 yr old sister while he went in the buggy but they usually end up the other way round! minder
I would keep your 20 month old in the pushchair, even if they are screaming. A trike or scooter would be out of the question for me. Safety comes first. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/37723-advice-for-pram-hating-toddler/#findComment-690378 Share on other sites

verds
Ha - thanks, that makes me feel a lot less unreasonable when I shove her in there! I will use some bribery. Jo'sEnglish
Just to say my little boy went through a pushchair hating stage at about that age for a couple of months but now he is 25 months he is fine. So it could just be stage :) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/37723-advice-for-pram-hating-toddler/#findComment-690503 Share on other sites
