But does anyone remember that version of Robinson Crusoe that was screened in the mornings during the summer holidays. Boy I just loved that show and it seemed to go on and on and on, measuring out the endless summers episode by episode.

Oh, and The Clangers was total TV genius.

The beeb just put up a story on Monkey (proper name Saiyuuki) here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/7520243.stm

I have the recent remake of the series mentioned in the comments along with a movie with much of the same cast that came out last year in Japan, which are both well worth watching, it just shows that a good story really does stand the test of time!

I literally came on to post about Monkey Magic as I just fell across it on a webstie, I absolutely loved loved loved that show.. For years all the kids I knew did the funny finger waving thing he does when calling the cloud!! Just remembering that has made me laugh out loud!

Singing Ringing Tree (the NFT put it on about 15 years ago)

Robinson Crusoe

Belle and Sebastian

White Horses

Blue Peter (not allowed to watch Magpie - commercial TV - shudder)

Magic Roundabout

Some strange programme about people with magic powers - can't remember its name but it was scarey.

Banana Splits with the cartoon where the magician takes the shape of animals (size of a mouse/donkey/elephant/whatever)

Banana Splits - the cartoon was the Arabian Nights, and they also had a cartoon version of the Three Musketeers. I remember the cartoons well, but nothing about the rest of the show. Except the theme tune of course;

"la la la, la la la la, la lal la, la la lal al......"

I have just read that after all this time, they're making a film of The Mysterious Cities of Gold, and 3 brand new series! Just as long as they keep the original theme tune!

I remembered another one.

    • Try Gentrification, those with more money than sense who constantly want something different, when pie and mash isn't good enough for them.  "Argentinian Cornish pasties" give3 me a proper Cornish pastie any day of the week, at least I'd be supporting something traditionally British.   ps. tin hat at the ready........................🤣
    • You really have to go and look at the schools yourself, and do some research. My children went to the same school in different years and had very different experiences. Different school focus on different things. It's very personal. We bought close to the school I wanted to go to, and then moved a bit later, when they were old enough to travel on their own.
    • Not even remotely close to the catchment for charter north over there and would imagine outskirts of east (tho should check recent years). Would leave the Harris’s as more guaranteed options so maybe have a look at those and see if you’d be happy with them as a fallback
