Best coffee on Lordship Lane?

I know it's an oldie, but I can't see anything recent on this and as a now semi-regular visitor to esph on LL i am keen to hear from any other coffee nerds about where I should go for my post gym fix. Now Homemade has closed I'm at a bit of a loss...

Toasted does a nice espresso. And wine and beer. That's where I come unstuck.

The Italian ice cream place (Oddono's) does pretty decent coffee as well, also very convenient for ESPH.

Agree with Toasted (although not in the same class as St David, General Store, Anderson etc). Had a take away from Franklins at the weekend which was actually decent and very close to ESPH.

It's a shame as there's so many awesome coffee places in London now, yet none on LL!

Quite agree adsyb99 there is definitely a lack on LL.

For my money there is a big triangle, from the cafe at South London Gallery, Mousetail van at Peckham square, to Browns at Brockley (is that a triangle?! Isosceles maybe) which completely avoids ED, sadly. Oh, and the Dish and Spoon's coffee is pretty good too.

But hearing you all, will give Toast a go...

KikiMac, this has always bothered me too!

The places you mentioned all serve fantastic coffee, but for whatever reason, no where that comes close to these in ED.

Toasted is definitely drinkable, but I've noticed a big variance in quality depending on who makes the coffee. Always friend in there though.

I'd agree with others that Toasted is by far the best in ED. It does, as always, depend on the barrister - Leo makes excellent coffee.

Franklins is quite good (again depending on who makes it) and uses Volcano beans.

Outside of that I travel out of ED to Arlo & Moe (Crofton Park), Anderson & Co (Bellenden Road), Caf? Viva (Choumert Road), Browns (Brockley) or Bambuni (Evelina Road).

The London's Best Coffee app is usually a pretty good guide.

Toasted gets my vote too - far superior to any of the other coffee shops in SE22 and they play great music. I dropped into St David Coffee House in Forest Hill the other week and was impressed with the quality of their coffee.

Having enjoyed a black Americano from all the aforementioned, and none of them bad, currently the little french / Boulangerie Jade place on the corner of Barry Road that used to be Homemade, is far better than all the others and worth the extra walk.
