Best restaurant in ED

The only d?cent indian is Ganapati although technically, peckham rye. I would say it depends on your taste, you should start sampling : )

I have yet to try Ganapati, but Surma tandoori does a brilliant takeaway for my money.

Which restaurants are you talking about? If you mean Angels & Gypsies and the Crooked Well - then these have been in Camberwell for some time and recommended on the forum.

I cant think of any others though.

The Turkish place is also miles better than the two on lordship lane

Silk Road, Wulli Wulli, FM Mangal, and now Camberwell Arms. Camberwell is arguably a better dining destination than ED right now. Plus some decent drinking options too.

Yes, as above, Silk Road, Wuli Wuli, FM Mangal, The Bear. The Camberwell Arms kicking off will add to the mix.

Saying that, it seems ED is holding its own now with ToastEd and The Patch. A good Asian restaurant would be very welcome though, the current Chinese/Thai/Indian offerings are pretty bog standard.

Nobody has mentioned the Vegetarian cafe in Felbrigg Rd. I'd rate that very highly and never a complaint.

Also the Thai Corner Cafe in Northcross Rd. Very nice food , freshly cooked and not too expensive for anyone

I also like the Turkish place on Lordship Lane, goose green end. I've had two or three really delicious meals there.

There are many good eateries in E Dulwich that I haven't mentioned , French and Indian, Fish and chips and other types too. You can get virtually anything you fancy in E Dulwich.

The begging bowl is amazing!! they make there own coconut cream every day and they have a bbq to grill there meats fish.. the best Thai food in london. people go there from all over london.

Now we're going a little further afield, I also have to sing praises for Ganapati and the Crooked Well. Yum!

Always found the Palmerston good and consistently good, tried Franklins four times (not sure why) one good meal and three shockers. 1) Over cooked school dinner type slop 2) very good lunch 3) Burnt breakfast - shocking incompetence - how hard is it ? 4) Raw liver - not rare, not medium rare but raw, staff were shocked, chef reheated and plonked on plate. Won't ever be back, place just seems a bit complacent, living on past glories, and probably a bit overpriced for what it is
