So, everybody should just eat meat, spuds and 2 veg in a cafe?

The example given was one of the lowest readings.

As a consequence of eating mainly curry for 3 years NOT just in Jaflong. my HBa1c

average blood sugar count over 3 months is down to 5.3 mmol/L

Diabetes is 7.0 mmol/L under 5.9 mmol/L is non diabetic.

I have in fact reversed my diabetes. and now eat almost anything I want.

It would of cause be silly to start eating things like donuts and the like.

I'm fairly fit. Walk 5+ miles every day. Im 9 st 5lb.

Curries are healthy.

Just to put the record straight...

I think the Franco Manca prices seem reasonable.

Friends who have used the Brixton branch speak highly of the place and I trust their judgement.

I simple do not much like cheese or tomatoes except when cooked in sauces such as curry.

I simply do not like Pizza.

I'm sure they will do well and wish them all the very best especially after they have

done so much work to the place to overcome the previous problems with the design of the building.

Just mention of the word pizza throws up nightmare images of saturated fat from extremely unhealthy dairy and processed meats. Not to mention the overload of carbs. Makes me want to puke thinking about this unhealthy garbage meal being spouted as a healthy alternative to a meal containing vegetables. I've genuinely heard it all now. Pizza might taste delicious to some of you,but I can assure you it's far from healthy and Foxy is damn right with those stats. I think there should be a panorama program on it.

Think the new FM looks fantastic. My kids can't wait to go. Great addition to the Lane. Hope they do well. Popped into Pretty's Tapas last night, just for a look at the menu. Very reasonable and looked great. How wonderful to live near a High Street with a such a great diversity of restaurants. Luckly, the people who run most of them take this forum with a large pinch of blood pressure salt.

Did I? Well, I suppose I would say that, wouldn't I?! :)

But then, I was looking at a walk to see people like Wizz Jones or Bob Rafkin, who you couldn't see elsewhere locally, not a walk to eat a pizza.

Tell you what, go and have one, then come back and report on it here.

Of course, I agree it might taste a bit better if actually cooked :))

For the record, Franco Manca is the only pizza chain I know of which has a vegan pizza (i.e. no meat or dairy) listed on their menu.

Rocca in Dulwich Village also has one, but I'm not sure whether that could be called a chain (two branches).

There is a big difference between proper Italian pizza and 'american pizza' - which is an almost entirely different product.

The type of pizzas Franco Manca produce are not particularly unhealthy, certainly better for you than anything you're likely to get in Dulwich Cafe and not unreasonably priced.

FM use Sourdough for their pizza bases which is very nutritious. Lactic acids make the vitamins and minerals in the flour more available to the body by helping neutralise the phytates in flour that would interfere with their absorption. The acids slow down the rate at which glucose is released into the blood-stream and lower the bread's glycaemic index (GI), so it doesn't cause undesirable spikes in insulin

A bit of dairy is good for you (lot's of protein, calcium and minerals) as long as you don't over do it.. and as previously mentioned they do offer a cheese free option.

Processed meats aren't great I'll grant you, but you can go for one with plenty of veg and tomato.

It's a far cry from your 'chedder crust BBQ' frozen pizza.

    • Hi, Let me know if one is looking for a new home. Thanks
    • How did you get on up there?
    • My family had an appalling experience of Dulwich College and treated my young child in an extremely degrading and cruel manner. I’d like to leave this review as a warning to other parents who apply in good faith. We applied our neurodiverse child to 7+ and provided the documents from his medical team about necessary adjustments. We did this after DC spoke emphatically at multiple open days about their love and support and inclusion of neurodiverse students. Specifically Dr Griffiths saying he likes “spiky profiles”. However we were angry when after providing the documents as to the adjustments my son required DC failed to implement them, and failed to even allow him to complete 7+ assessments. When we asked them about it they were cagey and offensive. This included multiple discriminatory remarks made by Dr Griffiths which implied he was extremely ignorant about any kind of basic understanding of neurodiversity. Multiple members of staff including reception team and governors spoke in an extremely bigoted and offensive way about my child to me. We then filed a SEND4 and Dulwich College governors immediately changed their narrative about what had apparently happened during the 7+ assessment process. The discrimination continued when, by the time the SEND4 trial came round I was extremely unwell and the month before had to have an MRI to rule out possible cancer. We divulged that I was signed off and Dulwich College continued to discriminate against our family by refusing to postpone the hearing despite how unwell I was. This again perfectly exemplifies the dishonesty in all advertising materials from Dulwich College about any kind of integrity in the culture in the leadership team. We had benefit of the doubt at first that we were dealing with one or two nefarious individuals, but unfortunately I can vouch this involved Dr Griffiths and members of the governing body who had ample opportunities to rectify this and not break the Equality Act. In parallel because of this disgusting discrimination and the degrading safeguarding failures against our elder child during 7+ we withdrew our application for our younger child which by that time had been accepted. To this date Dulwich College are still refusing to refund our younger child’s deposit of £2,000 even though we gave more than a term’s notice he wouldn’t be taking the place. In short a wholly disgusting bunch of individuals who you probably don’t want anywhere near your children. Hope this review is useful and saves other families the pain of watching their child be harmed by dishonest and bigoted individuals who have no place in the education system in the 21st century.
