How about a thread for stuff that is free? In the current economic climate, free things are nice.

I'll start off with a free calender :))

All you need is:

A - to find someone with access to a colour printer which handles paper bigger than A4

B - Erm, to re-do the public holidays as they are different.

Crap probably a bad work, but it just gets so much traffic, I think there should be a "for sale" / offered section seperate from the recommendations section.

I admit I am slightly biased, as someone took it upon himself to recommend Bare Groove after we played his wedding, and it was a lovely write up, which was on page 3 by the end of that day!

Anyway, I still think this particular thread doesn't belong there, it's not about something specific, it's a thread for people to say they've found something free and share it. So, unless it was sticky at the top of that section, it would just be lost and forgotten.

Its a kind of "Visual Novel", a style of game that goes back to the Famicom/Nes days (probably further back than that)

which were also popular on the FM Towns / Sharp x68000 series, gaining a wider audience on the PC Engine Disc system, PSX and Saturn etc. This style of game is a fairly new thing to the western market. You should be able to pick up the first 2 in the series for peanuts for the DS I reckon nowadays.

Going back on track, some 8-bit joy for free here:

    • Adding my recommendation for Niko too. Found his number on here and he came out at short notice on a busy weeknight to help us with a kitchen sink issue that had flooded our kitchen that day. Really helpful, responsive and went out of his way to fit us in and help us out. Very reasonably priced too - would thoroughly recommend!
    • Looks like it! Though according to the OP, they are "golden, hand-crimped parcels  packed with flavour" 😀 I don't understand. Admittedly my brain is functioning at a very low level at the moment. Does that mean various local shops get together and agree to offer a discount to anyone who shows them a receipt from one of the other ones dated the same day? I can't see what's in it for either of them, unless people shop somewhere they wouldn't otherwise have done just to get the discount. Is it for vaguely  linked things, say cheese from a cheese shop, wine from another shop? Showing my age there.  And then suppose it's always the same shop which people go to second to get the discount? What's in it for the first shop? People go there in order to get the discount in the second shop?
    • Local (especially independent) businesses should do like Wheelers Oyster Bar in Whitstable and offer a discount to anyone who can show them a receipt from Chacarero dated the same day.
    • Aria was great, he managed to come the same day after what had turned out to be a pretty long day at work and fix a really bad blocked pipe that needed to be resolved as soon as practicable. He’s lovely, professional and really helpful. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable plumber in the area. Thanks Aria!
