You could join me and Big Dave down the boozer for a few sherberts. We usually delve into a bit of existentialist angst at around pint 13, we delved into Jungs theory of the eternal self last time before ordering another Absinthe and a bowl of peanuts. The trick is remembering the order by which you put the world to rights in the morning. Tricky.

I have heard of a group based in Liverpool called Philosophy in Pubs. The idea sounded pretty interesting.

I?m not sure what level of knowledge you need. I imagine it?s based on Western analytical philosophy and you get an argument to test, apply your own thought to it and then you all get together, get drunk and have a big fight about it.

Kinda like a book club but interesting.

I?m not sure if they operate in London but then I?m not averse to steeling people?s ideas and passing them off as my own.

    • You would have to speak to Rob, the manager, and see what he says (and if the upstairs room is free on the nights you want,  whether it's suitable for you.) Other than that I can't advise, except that he asks that everyone attending  buys at least one drink during the evening, which seems completely fair! I wouldn't have thought the room would be big enough, but you could try. The Lordship and The Palmerston also have upstairs rooms, but I don't know if they'd use them for orchestra practice. Also, how about East Dulwich Community Centre in Darrell Road? That has a big sized space which might be more suitable for you. https://eastdulwichcommunitycentre.org.uk/
    • All connected. Thames Water have also dug some of the road up for works
    • I saw that. I'm pretty sure they put the wrong notice up. It seems to refer to a Burgess Park event later in the summer.
    • There was something to do a with a gate in the Brockwell case, I can't recall the detail, but the council removed a gate, which had been gifted in trust to the park, so the festival builders could allow access, or something. And that was illegal and that's what enabled Rylance et al to litigate.
