To add to the Steve Carter appreciation society... Steve, David and Irek have just finished refurbishing our windows and have done a great job. The windows are unrecognisable from their previous state of neglect. David and Irek left the house clean and tidy each day, Steve was very professional to deal with and they added some thoughtful 'nice touches' too. Highly recommended.

We cannot recommend Sundials highly enough, they were really great: exemplary craftmanship, very respectful, clean and tidy, hardworking, very clear communication, fairly priced. We are happy with our 8 refurbished late-Georgian sash windows, honestly they look amazing and have really enhanced the house in terms of comfort and look. We'd be very happy to provide photos or further details of the job if anyone is interested. Steve is a also a lovely person and this, no doubt about it, is reflected in the fact that he has a great team of people that enjoy working with him and feel pride in what they do and the way they do it.

I wanted to add my recommendation of Steve Carter and Sundial. They redid all the front sashes in our Victorian house in Honor Oak last October and they did an amazing job. The windows look great with refurbished surrounds and new sliding sashes with laminated glass for safety. What's even better is that our house is loads warmer! The team who did the work were professional, hardworking and tidied up in an exemplary fashion at the end of each day. The price was excellent value for the level of work that was carried out. I would recommend Steve to anyone!

I have just had Steve and his team restore and draught-proof the sash windows in my house in Nunhead after seeing these recommendations. The finished windows look absolutely stunning, the draught proofing has certainly made a difference, and I would definitely recommend Sundial to others. The guys who did the work were polite and accommodating, they worked all day in my garden in the freezing cold, and they were very thorough about finishing the job to a high standard. I'm very happy to recommend them.

We have recently had Steve and team restore and draught-proof the sash windows in our house in Nunhead.

The finished windows look great and the drought proofing has made a noticeable difference.

We would definitely recommend Sundial and a much preferred alternative to the full replacement pvc option (personal preference due to both desire to keep original features and also the lower cost of pvc sash windows). The team were very efficient and tidy and Steve was quick to give regular updates on progress.

The team scored high on trust - they found some cash that had fallen out of one of our pair of jeans when we must have been taking them out of the wash and phoned to say they had found it and would leave in specific place when we got home. This was reassuring to us.

To give full perspective - if you are having the team work outside then perfect. If inside, then worth budgeting say ?200 for a deep clean (or set aside a weekend yourself) to clean the very fine dust that can creep into small gaps. This certainly isn't a negative and the team taped up almost every gap, but with the amount of work completed a bit of dust is to be expected.

Overall fantastic job, highly trustworthy and very happy to recommend them.

I had Steve and his team recently renovate 6 sash windows and they did a fantastic job. I didn't want to have to replace the windows that were in disrepair and so to be able to to get Steve to restore the originals back to their former glory was excellent. I left his friendly team to it for a couple of weeks while i was away and came back to beautiful windows and a house that was in the same condition I left it. Great job, highly recommended.

I highly recommend Steve and his team! They recently refurbished 10 windows of mine which looked very dated, ugly and extremely draughty. They now look very smart, brand new, and no more wind in the flat!

Also important, they gave me a good competitive quote, no surprises with the final bill, they finished when they said they would, and they were very tidy and clean during the whole process. They really respected my living space.

Thanks Steve! Very happy with it all.

I would just like to add to these recommendations. Steve and the team have just refurbished all of our sash windows and doors. They now look fantastic, the house is quieter and much less draughty! The team were great: worked hard, tidied up - a pleasure to have around. Thanks so much! Another happy customer!

Dear customers - you may not be aware that we can also carry out repairs and re-paint the exterior of your houses as well as the windows. This includes masonry, gables, fascia and soffit boards, Front doors and porches etc.

For existing customers, we'd be happy to give any sash windows we've refurbished for you in the past another top coat to freshen them up FOC - Happy Summer everyone - Steve

Just another very strong recommendation to use sundial for any sash window restoration you may be considering.

We just moved to a rather dilapidated property in a conservation area. The property hadn't really been touched for 50 odd years, so we had big issues with our windows, some of which were totally rotten.

We had the choice of completely replacing them like for like, or attempting restoration. We were nervous about the restoration route, as our windows were such a mess we didn't think the end result could be as good as replacing with new timber sashes.

However, we had a meeting with Steve and I was immediately impressed with his knowledge and enthusiasm for excellent craftsmanship. We ran through the whole restoration process and from that point really I was convinced that this was the right way to go.

His team were amazing - polite, hard working, and as I had assumed, excellent craftsmen. The windows came up amazingly well, and blew away my expectations. I've attached some (sorry quite dark on the iphone camera!) images to view - I'm now so happy that we went down this avenue.

The stained glass window in particular was completely rotten. All the glass had to be removed from the lower sash and put back into to a new replica sash. The results are really impressive.

It feels great to keep the original character of the property - we're massively happy we were able to do this without compromising on the finish, and obviously it's considerably more cost effective than replacing with new windows.

Best,

R

Another glowing recommendation for Steve and the team.

8 dilapidated windows overhauled and brought back to their former glory. Incredibly helpful and friendly guys doing the work (Greg and Luke). They worked around other builders and tradesmen we had throughout the project and were generally a pleasure to work with.

We had a couple of quotes for guys to do the windows and painting work separately. Steve's team do them together which felt much more sensible to us and meant we only had to coordinate with one company.

No hesitation in recommending Steve.

Another recommendation for Sundial Property Services. They have just completed refurbishing my sash windows which took 3 weeks and they've done an amazing job. My windows were in a sorry state beforehand and a few of them needed to be replaced as they were rotten but the guys worked very hard and did a fantastic job. I would have no hesitation in recommending Steve and his team, I just wish I'd taken before and after photos to show the amazing transformation.

Steve from Sundial windows has given our old sash windows a complete new lease of life. They look completely different, superb finish and some windows that were sticky are now opening effortlessly. The draughts have also been significantly reduced.

Steve?s team were punctual, reliable and cleaned up so you have you?re home back at the end of the day.

I would not hesitate in recommending Steve and his team.

Just had Steve and team in to refurbish my sash windows, and would agree with everything AnnieB says above. Very pleased with the work done and the difference it has made to draughts and the look of the windows. Dealing with Sundial was easy, good communications, turned up on time, made as little mess as they could, totally reliable. Recommended.
I would also like to highly recommend Steve and his team, Matt & Luke (Sundial) . They have just replaced / refurbished 5 sash windows in my property. They have done a fantastic job and were a pleasure to work with. I would not hesitate to use them again for further work.

Adding to the great comments before I wanted to recommend Sundial who have completely refurbished our sash windows. They strip back, carry out repairs, etc and paint - made a huge difference to our cold living room! Also do exterior house painting as well. Contact Steve at www.sundialps.co.uk or 0845 680 0366.

Steve and his team were a pleasure to deal with at all times.

Just to let everyone know that we are fitting new wooden slimlite double glazed sashes into newly refurbished, existing frames more and more these days. It's a very effective solution for reducing draughts and rattles, as well as street/car noise.

Give me a call on 07966 493641 for a free demo and quote - regards - Steve Carter - Sundial

    • "That’s very insulting! You are basically calling 17 million people that voted to leave the EU ‘thick’. " I'm certainly calling them wrong. And many of those 17 million agree with me now and have expressed regret. Many others were indeed thick, and remain so. You can see them being interviewed all the time. As for insulting, the losing side in that referendum have being called every name under the sun "enemies of the people" etc etc - so spare me the tears about being insulted But for clarity. there is a certain type of individual who even now thinks Brexit was a good idea, tends to side with Trump and holds views about immigrants - and yes I am happy to calll those people thick. - and even worse Jazzer posts a long and sometimes correct post about the failings of modern parties. I myself think labour are woefully underperforming. But equally it has been less than a year after 14 years of mismanagement and despite some significant errors have largely steadied the ship. You only have to speak to other  countries to recognise the improvement there. They have cut NHS waiting times, and the upside of things like NI increases is higher minimum wage - something hard-bitten voters should appreciate. They were accused of being too gloomy when they came in and yet simultaneously people are accusing them of promising the earth and failing to deliver - both of those can't be true at the same time Fact is, this country repeatedly, over 15 years, voted for austerity and self-damaging policies like Brexit despite all warnings - this newish govt now have to pick up the pieces and there are no easy solutions. Voters say "we just want honest politicians" - ok, we have some bad news about the economy and the next few years  - "no no not that kind of honesty!!! - magic some solutions up now!" Anyone who considers voting for Reform because they don't represent existing parties and want "change" is being criminally negligent in ignoring their dog-whistles, their lack of diligence in vetting, their lack of attendance (in Westminster now and in eu parties is guises past) and basically making all of the same mistakes when they pushed for Brexit - basically, not serious people   "cost of things in the shops and utility bills keep on rising, the direct opposite of what they promised." - can we see that promise? I don't recall it? Because whatever voters or govts want, the cost of things is not exactly entirely in their gift. People were warned prices would rise with Brexit and e were told "we don't care - it's a price worth paying!". Turns out that isn' really true now is it - people DO care about the cost of things (and of course there are other factors - covid, trump, tariffs, wars etc.    What the country needs is a serious, mature electorate who take a high level view of priorities and get behind the hard work needed to achieve that. There is zero chance of that happening so we are doomed to repeat failures for years to come, complaining about everything and voting for policies which will make things worse
    • Regardless of “Blighty” it’s the combination of “we” “R” and “Blighty” we means there is a them  cancerian may or may not recognise a dog whistle.  If he doesn’t, we are trying to point one out.  If he does then they are trying to gaslight us into pretending they are just a lovely fundraising group with no agenda
    • I’m on Darrell Road and have noticed this recently - your daughters are not alone! It seems to only be at night. Would you agree? High pitched and consistent. I’ve been wondering if it’s a street lamp, or a fox deterrent system.
