""If, when the time came... Judy said to me, 'But what about you? What about the risk of prosecution?', I'd say, 'That's my problem, I'll deal with that, don't worry about it.' And for me, it would be the locked room, the bottle of whisky and the revolver. I wouldn't want to mess around.""

Charity Dying in Dignity:

"The law needs to change ...To that end the Assisted Dying Bill will shortly be debated by the House of Lords. This change in the law would result in fewer dying adults - and their families - facing unnecessary suffering at the end of their lives.

"The Bill is supported by an overwhelming majority of the British public. This is a problem that can no longer be ignored, and it is time for Parliament to act."

Did I miss the referendum or am I merely underwhelming?

The whiskey and revolver line wad bloody stupid as it give opponents something to jump on.

There are genuine concerns about protecting the vulnerable, but this undoubtedly needs a rethink. why the hell should anyone be forced to stay alive and suffer whilst their savings and estate are eaten away by over priced and largely shit care providers?

The talk of amazing care and hospices in this country is true in many cases, but nowhere near enough.

    • However, some would particularly like to avoid reviews of the 'there are far too many mice'; 'the cakes are deteriorating badly' nature. If you consider that a 'Negative Nelly' response. My experience was that the hot drinks and the varieties of e.g. teas on offer, were generally a positive element. As were the staff serving.
    • The hare krishna restaurant is called Govindas and still going strong in Soho Street, a different establishment to the one that used to be (still is?) in Hanway Street. I must go back to Govindas some time
    • Its that time of year again, past Christmas day and late delayed cards are turning up. How late are your cards arriving ?  Last year I had one delivered 4 weeks late. Can that be beaten this year ?
    • Sadly, a lot of businesses didn't invite reviews on the EDF at that time due to a number of "negative nellies" that would take delight in posting unfavourable comments, often despite never being to the business in question.  No matter how good the place was, some posters would find fault that wasn't there "don't lile the colour of the bidet set in the private bathroom, avocado 😅" Can hardly blame businesses at the time for not wanting reviews on here, thankfully that has mostly changed now.
