There's no mention of underpinning.

It's probably settled now anyway it's the fact it was built using concrete without andy reinforcing steel in the concrete to give it strength. I though I'd read it was just concrete sheet shuttered when built so no integrated reinforcement. If it was build today it'd have steel reinforcing inside the concrete.

So without the steel I would have though it'll just crack again probably where there were no cracks before.

Sadly the blog for the redevelopment died a death last July.

But the main fencing has now come down as they're landscaping and wow, the house looks amazing. It's so lovely to see it restored to its former glory. I do hope that there will be a chance for interested locals to have a look before it gets sold on. Well done colin.s if you're still involved!

It's not being demolished! It's being renovated by Hexagon housing association. The building will be conserved and turned into flats. About time too! It's been in a state of terminal decline for over 20 years. I'm glad it's finally being turned into homes, whilst preserving it historic features.

    • I know people won’t have any sympathy but the SEND challenge was brought up when taxing parents who have opted for independent school to meet a child’s SEND needs. Funding crisis is getting worse and the VAT on Education pushed children out of independent schools, now their SEND needs are to be met by the state.
    • I completely agree with you - and last night was really terrible where I am. Between midnight and 1am was the worst, where it genuinely felt like a war zone. I had to run out of my house to try and stop a grown man setting them off in open space right by our front doors. In response he went to throw a half lit one at me and then seemed to think better of it. I am so sad at how bad the situation has got here and how selfish people are. Fireworks are bad for the environment and for pets and wildlife, as well as just being unnecessary noise for people too. I have sent an email today to Helen Hayes, which I have done previously on this issue. Would advise anyone to write to your MP to do the same, and to ask them to engage with the debates scheduled for 19 Jan.
    • And they started long before midnight!
    • First mate - I wondered if I was imagining things at 4.45 this morning . Apparently not .
