Hi everyone

My husband and our 1 year old recently moved to Forest Hill and are looking to meet some new local parent friends. I am a working mum but am taking a break over summer, so I'd love to have some mums to explore the area with. We are also keen to make parent friends for playdates at the weekend. We're a really adventurous family and like to be out and about, but equally happy to have a playdate/coffee date and discuss the joys & challenges of early family life!

Look forward to hearing from you.

Hello and welcome!

I've just moved to Forest Hill/Sydenham from ED and was wondering who else lives up this way. (There's an SE23 forum, but it's not as busy as this one.)

If there are quite a few of us, perhaps we could arrange some local mum drinks/a get-together with the children.

Hi everyone

Think this thread kind of faded, but I met up with some fanastic East Dulwich mums to be today (I am pregnant with my second) and it made me think we should try a Forest Hill meet up as I'd also love to meet Forest Hill mums. I'm happy to organise one. PM or reply if interested, and I'll find us a date and venue...

Lovely to hear from so many to-be first and second time mums via pm and here. I am thinking a Saturday meet up as I work full time so can't yet meet in the week. We did one with some ED mums last Saturday and it worked really well and was lovely to meet so many mums.

Lets get the ball ralling... how about Saturday 7th Feb at 2:30. Depending how many come I can book a space at Canvas and Cream? I won't be bringing my little one, but if any mums are let me know.

Pm or respond here to let me know.

Hi! We are new to the area as well (FH, near Horniman to be precise!). I have a 2.5 yr old boy. Would love to meet up other mums/kiddos around here... Esp those interested in random coffee play dates / wine drinking sessions some evenings (mums only for the wine ones, of course!). ;-)

Sadly, I can't make it to the 7th Feb meet-up, if that's still happening. Have been meaning to try canvas n cream but have a birthday party instead to attend. Hopefully we can have another one in the near future? It's hard getting to know people via playgroups now!

Thanks! Keep us posted. :-)

Hi all

Looks like there's lots of interest in meeting, some on the 7th Feb and some later. Emilly and Mooncake can make it, so I'll book a space at Cookies on 7th, 2:30 for us, and if anyone else can join nearer the time let me know. After we meet I'll organise a second meet up too! X

Great- we can't book a table so I'll be there from 2:30... I'm not bringing my little one but I'll pm my personal details so you can contact me if needed.

For those who can't make it, the weather will be better post-Feb so will organise a Saturday playdate. Let me know if interested.

    • I am trying to find out about people's experiences of the 4+ and 7+ assessments. I am a teacher and have a wealth of experience tutoring for theses assessments (including my own son), but it's always good to keep on top of things as they always make tweaks to them. TIA!
    • "Sep, you don't even live here."   ???
    • "You have no idea why"   To be fair Sue, it's blindingly obvious to anyone who has a conversation with anyone who isn't a Corbyn supporter. And even some who liked Corbyn (like me initially) found him somewhat flaky even at his most popular But let's say you are right and I have NO idea why anybody might not vote for him. They still didn't vote for him. He lost two elections. The second one badly (and strongly predicted but the stubborn old goat wouldn't budge so we we were stuck with Johnson and another 3 million PMs in the 5 years that followed) So even with ZERO evidence, we have our eyes and ears and brains But we do have evidence   https://yougov.co.uk/politics/articles/27022-their-own-words-why-voters-abandoned-labour
    • As I said, it was my understanding. I worded it very carefully. I didn't/don't know for sure, so clearly not a fact. And hardly an "opinion", which is something completely different. You have no idea what reason anybody might have had for not voting for him (unless you can point to some opinion poll results which actually asked people?)
