AM do you never get public transport anywhere? That's when I do most of my reading, on the way to and from work.

And you seem to have watched most of the world cup. That's a lot of time that you could have chosen to read in. Not saying you SHOULD have, that's up to you, but I don't like people saying they have no time. We all have 24 hours in a day, it's our choice how we use it.

Yeah for the chimney starter. Wood chips in a smoking box ?

I'm having a great deal of joy from my new Prakti charcoal burner

Having your beard trimmed by the barber, is a thing of joy. If you haven't tried this, then grow one and go see

Mind you when someone's waiting behind you and you've had your hair cut. Then gone on for the beard trim you can see the resigned look of "f*ck really, how long does all this hair and beard sh*t take"

Can't say I'll ever experience that joy, as my beard growing ability is probably best described as "pathetic", but when I was travelling last year I got my hair cut in Vietnam at a stall set up in a roadside market area. Not being up to speed with the price of a haircut I agreed a price (a whole US$2) that was, apparently, a little generous. So, the fellow threw in a full shave, old fashioned style with a cut-throat razor - my first one. I felt like a right lord of the manor.

Well, if you ignore all the cars and motorbikes tootling past a few metres away.

    • I have a single glazed bay window in my kitchen. All my other windows (including a separate window in my kitchen)  are double glazed. I had a quote to fit double glazing to the bay. It was extremely high and I wasn't willing to pay such a lot for a room I don't spend a vast amount of time in. Has anybody had secondary glazing fitted to a back bay window, and if so was it successful and did it look ok from the inside? And what sort of price can I expect to pay?
    • ditto - the lack of respect the organisers / council have for the impact on the wildlife and damage to the park is the reason I protest the Gala on its current site. The noise is secondary
    • Not sure about that - I'm personally not too bothered by the noise, despite living possibly the closest to the site. I am bothered by the impact on all the wildlife, as should hopefully everyone with a conscience and who care about their community?
    • Their coffee and food is delicious. Really nicely decorated cafe with a nice vibe and a great selection of books too. The owner and staff are all very friendly and happy to chat when preparing your order.
