whooosh! I simply adjusted your argument to cash to show how it equally applied "in t'olden days"

the whole point of the thread is "how does someone get home if they have lost the item that gets them on a bus"

YOU are choosing to be tricksy with the newer methods

Quite so. But you know when you have run out of money. But you can't tell when the accursed Oyster has run out of e-cash.

Thanks - first time I did it I waited for a receipt and stood there confused :)

You're right, I'm a muppet. For some reason I've always thought they weren't.

Regards the two caps: if I reach a bus cap then add a Tube journey or two, does the daily "all public transport" cap kick in, or does the bus cap get "undone" ready for other journeys that might take it up to the former cap I mentioned. (It could just be that I am misunderstanding the system.)

    • I think the thread title is a bit overdramatic there’s thousands of CICs in the UK.  Hopefully, I don’t sound naive when I say that sometimes this sort of set up is a way to reach hard to reach people without the bureaucracy of more formal organisations.

    • We have a place and a date for the first (and hopefully not the last) reborn ED Forum drinks! We have booked tables at The Palmerston on Wednesday 11 June at 7pm, in the area by the window on the left as you come in. It would be very helpful to us (and particularly the pub) if you could PM us in good time if you intend to come, so that we are not reserving tables which won't be used. We will provide labels and pens  for those who would like to use them - definitely not compulsory! Any comments or queries, please post them here or PM me!
