Buongiorno a tutti! I have HOT NEWS. Lorenzo's of Crystal Palace is to open a second branch at 32 Forest Hill Rd, next to the Coop. Just been talking to Mr Lorenzo and his son. They had been reading the posts about SE22 needing a good Italian eatery, and decided to take the plunge. They are aiming for a June 1 opening. Pizza, pasta, sea food and an outside terrace. F Hill Rd has been looking up recently with the new barber's and the revamped beautician's place. Hopefully this will be a welcome arrival. A presto, amici! Nero

Rejoice! I love Lorenzo's in Crystal Palace and a second one on Forest Hill Road is just what East Dulwich needs, a proper family run Italian restaurant. Yee Ha! I am delirously happy about this and can't wait for it to open. And within a short walking distance to home too. Marvellous.

"I never went to 2 Trees. What was it like, apart from awful."

Nero.

How can you say two trees was 'awful' when you say you never went there??

Doesn't really make any sense.

Personally i loved it;

Inexpensive.

Not a chain.

Individual.

Friendly...

... and good food.

Ok the atmosphere was a little 'quiet', but that was ok if you just want an intimate quiet night out, especially when you don't want to be surrounded by people with pushchairs, born again non-smokers, and people who talk with excessive volume about property prices or how much money they've made that day...

(oops almost on to a rant there...)

I can't be alone in missing it?

Nero,

Ahh, well appearances would have been deceptive!

Shame i can't try and convince you to go there now...!

Will have to try MPC though, sounds good.

By the way Karter, can you compare their pizzas to the ones served in The Gowlet? Those are damn fine pizzas...

Karter ol' thing - are you failing to declare an interest here?? ;-) It seems almost 20% of your 100+ posts recommend MPT! Hmmm... landlord, trader and resident on LL?? :))

I'm looking forward to tasting the evening chef. I regularly eat during the day as it has a good value/quality balance (and the sarnies are varied and reasonable quality bread) - but I never found it exceptional, just good straightforward cooking!

    • I had a leaky toilet cistern and Niko came out the same day and not only fixed the leak but thoroughly cleaned off the years of calcium build-up. His attention to detail was matched by his kind humanity. The result was a completely renovated toilet which has never worked more efficiently as well as 'service with a smile'. MANY THANKS NIKO!!!
    • I am trying to find out about people's experiences of the 4+ and 7+ assessments. I am a teacher and have a wealth of experience tutoring for theses assessments (including my own son), but it's always good to keep on top of things as they always make tweaks to them. TIA!

    • "You have no idea why"   To be fair Sue, it's blindingly obvious to anyone who has a conversation with anyone who isn't a Corbyn supporter. And even some who liked Corbyn (like me initially) found him somewhat flaky even at his most popular But let's say you are right and I have NO idea why anybody might not vote for him. They still didn't vote for him. He lost two elections. The second one badly (and strongly predicted but the stubborn old goat wouldn't budge so we we were stuck with Johnson and another 3 million PMs in the 5 years that followed) So even with ZERO evidence, we have our eyes and ears and brains But we do have evidence   https://yougov.co.uk/politics/articles/27022-their-own-words-why-voters-abandoned-labour
