Thanks everyone but have found someone now.

Can anyone recommend a cleaner with availability to do a one-off clean of a 4 bed house in East Dulwich, this coming Friday (10th Feb)? Very late notice I realise! Must supply own materials / equipment.

Can anyone recommend a mobile nail technician who can cover Forest Hill? Specifically needs to do fake (acrylic) nails. I've found lots of people who can do 'normal' manicures but not falsies. Many thanks

Thanks for all the replies on this. I think I have found someone now.

I have two elderly dogs that need walking/feeding on an ad hoc basis. I work from home mainly but have to be away from home for longer periods sometimes and that's when I need a dog walker. They only need a short walk round the park, some attention and fuss, and sometimes feeding. The walker must be patient and caring as one dog has a brain tumour and is very wobbly. ?15 paid per session. Many thanks

Just a wish...(there was a baby/pram/child free pub in ED)
vicksg replied to bermygirl's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Well said Curmudgeon. My parents owned a pub when I was young, and they used to take me to pubs as well. But I was expected to behave, and I knew that I was in an adult space, not my own home, and should behave appropriately. Running around, screaming, or generally disturbing other customers was not an option. I love the phrase 'look at me parenting' ! I know just what you mean. But this leads to a much wider debate about how far parents go these days not to curb any of their offspring's childlike behaviour. I feel it's gone too far and it won't do them any favours when they enter the real world, but what would I know?! Curmudgeon Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I like children in pubs when their parents > appreciate that it is their role to ensure their > children know how to behave which does not involve > running around, being loud or in any way impacting > on other people's rights to enjoy themselves, hold > a conversation etc ...I like children in pubs if > their parents don't do that overly loud "look at > me parenting" thing and take them outside to calm > down if they are crying, tantrumming, being > boisterous or generally acting like it's a park or > playzone or their own home > > And now you can take that entire sentence and > replace the word "parents" with "friends" and > "children" with "other adults" -
Thanks to everyone who got in touch but I have found a walker now. I need a walker every weekday for a month (starting from now), for my 3 dogs. They are aged 11-18 so all old. 2 of them are deaf. One of them walks slowly while the other likes to pull, with one in the middle! So it's a bit challenging to walk them but they only need about half an hour. No other dogs on their walk please. I'm based near the swimming pool in Forest Hill. Early afternoons best. ?15 per walk. PM me if interested.

2 great comics for ?10, in a lovely venue. Liam Williams presents his acclaimed ?Capitalism? show. Nominated for a Foster?s Edinburgh Comedy Award, it is an erudite, eloquent hour about Generation Y angst. ?An intelligent, brilliantly funny and densely layered show? (The Independent). Liam is supported by Jonny Pelham, nominated for Chortle Best Newcomer and judges choice in the BBC New Comedy Awards. Tickets here: http://dulwichfestival.co.uk/product/comedy-double-bill-liam-williams-jonny-pelham/

I need a cleaner for around 5 hours (or less if necessary) for my house in Forest Hill. Please help!

I'm in! Let me know details. Hope it's not a Wednesday!

Sounds great but is it really suitable for all ages and abilities or is it actually 20-somethings who are really great?! I'm 41 and was never brilliant at netball but loved it - would I be out of place?

Mine is 20-30 on a Saturday, but I'd be interested in anyone's experiences

I have booked the function room at Koz for a works party, on the strength of the meals I have personally enjoyed there. However, I mentioned my party plan to a couple of friends who were horrified as they'd had terrible experiences eating as large groups there. Has anyone eaten there with a large group? Was it okay? Grateful for any sharing of experiences!

Recommendations for architect/designer for side return
vicksg replied to Tworler's topic in Request a Tradesperson
Hi Emma, You lucky thing - I'd love to do my extension all over again - loved every minute of it! I personally would recommend starting with a builder. They can give you initial advice on what can and can't be done, and the good ones will be able to recommend architects they work well with. I've done work on my house both ways (i.e. architect first or builder first) and would always stick to builder first. If you want my builders details feel free to PM me. Good luck with the build! -
Anyone completed loft conversion and willing to let us view??
vicksg replied to missmack1981's topic in The Lounge
Hi, I can certainly recommend an architect and builder. I didn't have a loft conversion, but built two extensions. He's done loft conversions - am sure you could have a look at one or two. -
Great comedians in a great venue, and for only ?10! See Dan Antopolski and Andy Zaltzman, with Mark Smith as compere, on Sat 17th May at the Michael Croft theatre in Alleyn's School, Townley Road. http://www.dulwichfestival.co.uk/event/comedy-double-bill-andy-zaltzman-dan-antopolski

Thanks Rebecca. As always, I'm unable to make that specific date (choir on Mondays) but thank you for the info.

I would really love someone to teach me how to do basic crochet. I know some local places do courses but I'm never able to make those dates/times. I'm willing to pay for one-to-one tuition. I'm posting this here rather than in the trades section, as I suspect it won't be a professional who will help me - just a kind local who wants to pass on their crochet passion!

I thought it was wonderful (and not just because I took part carol singing with Kitsch In Sync). There was a real buzz and so much going on. I think the organisers did a great job - thanks for having us!

Oh I wish my evidence was within the useful timescale as it definitely sounds like the same person. Heartbreakingly when the police did arrive they accused us of wasting police time, even though this psychotic individual had driven off with half our wordly goods and was refusing to give them back until we paid him.
-
Hi Fernyhka, Your experience sounds a lot like mine, but that wasn't the name of the business at the time. Wouldn't surprise me if they'd changed it though. We ended up calling the police our situation got so bad. And to my shame I never posted on the forum about it because the owner was so aggressive I feared the consequences. So good on you for warning people. Moving house is stressful enough without this kind of thing.
