First day of hot summer holidays and all that....but no, our local pool has no sessions until 6pm?!....replacing the schools session with a general swim might have been a good idea but instead they have just decided to keep it closed 'due to maintenance'......errrgh

Have a look at the pool in Deptford (Wave lengths) they may have some sessions on today? Or peckham?

Or Forest Hill, Sydenham (the bridges), Crystal Palace or Bromley - plenty to chose from!

Brockwell and Tooting lidos can be quite cold, even at this time of year, for small children who aren't used to those temps.

I've discovered Charlton lido though, which is heated as well as outdoors. Ignroe the carbon fotoprint and give it a whirl.

Yes - wetsuits all the way in Brockwell for little ones (it takes my breath away!).

I'm very excited to hear about a heated lido nearby- I love outdoor swimming. However, after looking up charlton lido, it is apparently heated to 25 degrees. Brockwell was just over 24 degrees at the weekend. This year is the time to give it a try! (I agree though that even at 24 it is too cold for little ones to stay in for long)

we went to Charlton Lido on wednesday and absolutely lovedit!! its only 25 mins in the car, well worth it!!

Yes. Mine does when we go to the seaside but that's a bit different from being immersed in it when all they're normally used to every weekend is the bath-temp like waters of the Camberwell baths teaching pool.
