I took a drive out tonight along Dartmouth Road, sadly it has a sign on the door "Closed until further notice"

I do hope it's not the end for this place, but I'm not sure my hope's well placed

I'd liked to have given it a try

I normally try to ignore the comments left about local businesses on here, and I never really take much notice of opinions, as I like to go and see for myself and form my own...you know, in the old days before the T'internet & when you couldn't be bothered to check newspaper food columns for reviews *ages self* But I have worked in the food industry for nearly 30 yrs and know how hard is it is start up a new business today... I definitely wouldn't be able to afford the time and money, and admire those that put themselves out there and have a go. The fact is as I stated, a lot of time and care has been put in by people to build this place as I have watched it grow over the past months on my commute, and see a handful of people transform a tatty shop into something looking quite smart. The fact that I googled "Ash forest hill' and got led straight to this post with sarcastic comments on it before it's even opened made me sigh and want to wish them well.

cmon, it's not the end of the world. Quite a few posters have been encouraging, and at least we all know when the shop's opening, should we find ourselves in the area and a bit peckish.

Besides, as far as I'm concerned, if it's in the lounge then it's fair game for a bit of off-topic conversation.

Oh how depressing. I moved in February so hadn't been by recently (and can't afford take aways at the mo). I really hope he's gone away for a bit, but I've always worried about how he'd last on that strip. Busy as it seems, I'm not sure he'd have really have had that much footfall.

He worked really hard at it and went the extra mile, little things like poking a couple of air holes in the top of your chip box so they didn't go sweaty made a big difference.

Fingers crossed it's not permanently closed.

I know Otta, it's sad to see, but hopefully he'll be ok. Will keep an eye on it, see what occurs.

I suppose this shows how people feel when something is that bit better, like you say about the chips in the box. I love to see considerate individuals really trying hard, the difficult bit is getting that message across to people

Even harder, is getting that message across and making it viable into your business

Good luck to Ash, hopefully their "good food, with love" ethos and a generous footfall, will give them the customers in abundance

The way some people are so rude its really sad. Don't knock them until you have tried them and so what that u have not checked your messages and responded to such rude comments has anybody ever thought that you are busy setting up a business wow I live local and have also seen the works being done and I must say the shop looks a million times better then it did before if you don't like kebab then don't bloody eat it no one is forcing you in there with a stick just leave them alone to get on with it

Little disappointed that it's just another kebab shop, nothing different on the menu to any other place on LL, well actually it seemed to have less, even the specials board was pretty rubbish. The guy cooking asked another older guy hiding out the back to give him a hand serving some other customer's, his reply was 'what do i say ?' - what would you like was the answer ! Hope it works out for them, they've made such an effort with the decor, pity not as much with the menu. The kebabs we had were nice though.

    • Where did I say he did a good job? Yup and Corbyn was very close to Len McCluskey and funded by Unite wasn't he...they're all as bad as each other... Labour have to purge their party of the far-left - they're a disaster. Allan Johnson summed it up so well on election night in 2019....
    • Thank you for the detailed advise @trinidad It is definitely damage we are concerned about. I don’t think Evri would agree to pay the bill to fix our gate or letter box if they were to be damaged as a result of their delivery drivers helper. Our doorbell can be heard from outside when rung so we don’t quite believe the aggressive simultaneous door/letter box banging is necessary. It can be quite a shock it is done very aggressively.  I’ll definitely action the steps you’ve kindly provided along with a phone call tomorrow. I do sympathise with the role drivers have and how busy they are, which is why we tried communicating directly with her but sadly we haven’t succeeded
    • What outcome would you like? Disciplinary action? Not to have the driver back? Retraining? I know there is alot of pressure on drivers to deliver within a set day. if he slams the gate, is it evidence he is causing damage, or is the noise a irritant to yourself? You could put a sign up or buy a signing asking to close the gate gentle???? can you hear the door bell from the door? he might be ringing, not hearing and therefore knocking. In trhe notes section of the be livery page, there is a note section, although there is not 100 per cent these notes would be read as these drivers are constantly rushing.  I did a google search for you, i found this and you can try the envri website Contact Us | Evri   To complain to Evri, you can follow these steps: Contact Customer Service: Call Evri's customer service at 0330 808 5456 for assistance with your complaint.    1 Write a Letter: Address your complaint to Capitol House, 1 Capitol Close, Morley, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS27 0WH.    1 Use the Official Website: Visit the Evri complaints page on their official website for detailed instructions on how to submit a complaint.    2 Email or Call for Specific Issues: For issues like missing or damaged parcels, you can email or call 0800 988 8888, which is free to call.    1 These methods will help you effectively communicate your concerns to Evri.   My driver is called anthony, he is brilliant to be honest. I cant fault him.
    • When I have more time and energy, I will look up the actual number of votes cast for each party in that election, rather than the number of seats won. I'm interested to see that you apparently  think that  Boris Johnson did a good job of "leading the country through Covid." Is your memory really that short? I won't stoop to calling Johnson and his cronies names in the way that you seem to think is appropriate for left wing politicians. At least the left wing politicians have some semblance of morals and a concern for people who aren't in some over privileged inner circle and/or raking in money for themselves on the back of an epidemic. I'm not going to open a can of worms on here  by commenting on the disgraceful so called "purge".
