Hello

I was about to post in another section but on a second thought I may have more success here, hopefully

I have now lived in the area for 3 years. Myself and my child (9yr) We are settled but upon yet again another rent rise I have decided that is time to move on.

I always wanted to share with another single parent and child, and I have done so for a few months. It was a great experience for all parties involved.

So what I am asking here is for anyone in a similar position who want to stay local (mainly for schools and friends) but the current market has priced off buying. If like me you are fed up to miss out on good property or make do with a 2 bed flat and would like to share a larger property with a larger garden, have company for the kids, and share some duty and a glass of wine? than there must be a way to make it happen !

If you know of any single parent or a divorced parent who needs a child friendly environment at the week end please send them my way!

I am happy to explore this possibility, meet over a coffee and see where that leads.

Alternatively I would consider sharing with a someone who doesn't mind having a child around or a student that for a reduced rent can do the odd babysitting.

I have posted on more specific forums. There are many parent looking for the same but scattered all over London.

Surely there ought to be someone around this area?

I can afford a decent share of the rent needed for a 3/4 bed house

Thanks for reading so far !

I'm sure someone posted about this on here a while back? Also - is there a single parents thread on here, am sure there has been in the past - might be worth posting about it there or changing the subject header so that it's obvious, some may have missed what this is about.

I agree with belle I think a clearer title might help, also there is the accommodation/houses/to let page, perhaps if you put this there as well you might get more traffic. Is there a single parent forum you could also advertise on?

I think it's a great idea. Good luck

Hello, it was something I was mulling over a while back when I thought I might lose the tenancy on my current flat, but I've now renewed for another year so not looking to share for now. I might be interested next year though if my landlord proposes an unfeasible rent increase.

hello thanks for the links.

I have posted on most specific forum. It is happening all over London and I have met a few women. The only problem is to find someone willing to move south.

I am not able to move in order to join an on going house share either, cannot do that to my child again as he is getting extra help at his current school. That's why I was trying my luck with a local forum.

Oh yeas I changed the title ... dunno what I was thinking (blushing) :-)

    • I had to renew my licence - took photocopy of my current licence and also my renewal application and posted everything off. Within 10 days received my new licence. My old licence was due to run out in January so I submitted the renewal early December.
    • I cannot remember who ran/organised the original ED LETS. They had meetings at the ED Community Centre every so often. I think there were about 20 - 25 people involved.
    • That looks consistent with what I saw when I checked a few weeks ago, after someone raised a fresh thread asking about the progress.  I was about to post here asking if anyone could help with what seemed a bit of  a  mystery.  The planning register didn't show the application as decided.  I couldn't find any minutes of the committee meeting that James reported on last year, or any mention in any other minutes of the application.  The meeting was itself  flagged in the meetings schedule as MOVED (presumably to another date).   Incidentally, I remember one of the atttached planning documents being a report on the financial prospects then pertaining.  As far as I understood and remember it seemed to show the construction for sale of the buildings a ? poor prospect for the investment.  I'm no expert though.
    • Hi sue  so this year I think I fed them a tomato food but only probably three to four times in the summer  don't over water them  I put mine outdoors in about march depending on the weather as long as there's not going to be any frost and bring them back indoors September october-ish or when I think the frost is coming
