Yes. I asked one of the staff at the station and he said they only have three lines coming into the station working compared to the usual four so they've cancelled some trains on the route into London Bridge from East Dulwich, he expected that would be the case until January.

I am starting to think I might just save myself some money and get the 40 all the way. The amount extra the train costs isn't worth the hassle.

It's been rubbish for a long time and will be till all the works at that end of the station are complete. On the rare occasions they hold their 'meet the managers' PR stunt I pass on as much of my pain as I can so they'll know they're lying when they put out positive spins on the situation. I started noticing about last Oct/Nov that the service always seemed to have a problems and since then there hasn't been one single day without some kind of delay or cancellation. The railways should be renationalised.

If you're heading for the City itself, a less stressful alternative is to change at P Rye and get the overground to Shoreditch High St. For the west of the City, change at P Rye or get the bus to Denmark Hill for trains to Blackfriars and City Thameslink.

Or cycle - it's quicker.

I think it has got significantly worse, take yesterday for example, the 08:20 sits outside the station so arrives at 08:50 and then the normal debacle getting out on platform 15. In the evening I had to leave earlier so got on the 17:10, which sat there for 15 mins before saying delayed and then they told everyone to go on the 17:25, to which a huge rush ensued and someone fell over (she seemed to be alright lucklily but her shoe didn't!!). About an hour later my girlfriend tried to get on the train and the whole sations was shut due to overcrowding so she had to get the bus.

This morning the 08:20 rolled in at 08:50 again......... I am very much looking forward to have a chat at the next meet the managers session, I wonder if they will offer to refund the days where people who had already bought a ticket used the bus and had to buy another ticket there.....anyway rant over....... but temper not cooled down yet !

I got the 0913 this morning from Peckham Rye, they announced it was terminating at South Bermondsey as there was overcrowding at London Bridge, and we were told to wait on the platform for the 0928, the train arrived and it was packed and then we waited 15 minutes outside London for an avaiable platform - ABSOLUTE JOKE! Whilst waiting for the platform, and EMPTY train whizzed past instead of making our train a priority.

The delays are being caused by a Network Rail led programme, NR being a nationalised company, don't believe the rubbish the papers and Wolmar spout.

I try to take the overground at Peckham Rye whenever I can now to avoid London Bridge if I need to get into town for work during rush hour - although those trains can get very crowed too.

I also have to do some work at Tadworth in Surrey at the moment (I'm self-employed) and I'm finding the journey out there and back incredible for the number of delays, cancelled trains, etc.

Trains were bad when platforms 14/15/16 closed then seemed to improve to a relativly decent service when 14/15 reporned and 12/13 shut but since 12/13 have reopened and 10/11 has shut, its been unberable. And an utter joke.

I'd love to have a rant at a meet the managers session but as I always seem to get into LB exceedingly late, I don't have time to stop and talk/the session is ending - I'm pretty sure this is deliberate tbh.

I've been getting the 40 most days too :-(

IA long time back, I'm sure BR hired taxis for customers if a train was cancelled.

Gave them an incentive not to cancel willy nilly.

    • https://www.assistancedogs.org.uk/information-hub/assistance-dogs-emotional-support-dogs-and-therapy-dogs/   hello   i’d be interested to understand if anyone.has experience of Assistance Dogs especially for autistic children of different ages for emotional support and therapy   There was a prior thread on this topic on EDF 10 hrs ago but it had limited experiences and there was a (claimed) change in UK legislation in 2019. Whilst the industry appears unregulated/unlicensed, there are several providers (approx 15, perhaps more) who claim to have fully trained dogs or say that they can help families to train a puppy/young dog over the 18-24 months.  The latter obviously comes with a need for strong commitment to the challenge. Costs for a fully trained assistance dog are quoted at £13-15k albeit they claim £23k total cost to train the dog. On the one hand, this could potentially be a useful solution for some families if such a dog was truly trained as their websites claim and such a dog was accepted in public places and schools etc… On the other hand, I don’t think that I’ve ever seen an assistance dog of this type or in this context (only for a blind or partially sighted person) and hence a real risk of fraud or exploitation! The SEN challenge for families coupled with limited resources in schools or from local authorities or the NHS as well as the extremely challenging experience of many families with schools offering little or no support or making the situation worse leaves a big risk of lots of different types of fraud and or exploitation in this area.
    • Hi there  We live on Woodwarde Road backing on to Alleyns Top Field.  Our cat Gigi has gone missing — it’s been about 24 hours now. She is a cream Bengal. Could you please check sheds, garages, or anywhere she might have got stuck please? And if you could keep an eye out or share on any local groups/forums, we’d really appreciate it. Photo attached.   Thanks so much! My name is Jeff on 07956 910068.
