I've just read that Ryan Babel is the joint laziest player in the Premiership - he has only made 5 tackles all season.

I wonder what Real Madrid will make of the Kop, hopefully they will be a state of shock and incapable of stringing any passes together when they hear YNWA!

However, with the 2nd leg being only 3 days after the Reds crunch visit to Old Trafford, I think Liverpool need to avoid defeat in Madrid as Liverpool aren't too clever when trailing from a 1st leg. I can only think of 2 European games, post-Heysel, where Liverpool have lost the 1st leg and still made it through to next round. I recollect those games as Auxerre (1991) and Chelsea (2007).

Bit disappointed to see on SSN this morning that Eduardo has done an exclusive with the scum.

No doubt they've put their usual own spin on the story, but to chastise Taylor for not apologising (when he states that he has tried on several occassions) is a bit harsh in my opinion.

Agreed Anna - it's disappointing. But having done the deal we can probably ignore the article itself as Eduardo's presence merely allows them to print the story they had already written

I know saying one hates the Sun is redundant - but god I hate it

In the Cardiff game Eduardo did a studs showing high challenge that went unpunished - and Setanta's resident muppet Craig Burley palmed it all off with Eduardo will want to defend himself after his injury. What about Bendtner's late lunge, at end of match - again should have been a straight Red card but he didn't even get a booking. Arsenal are as guilty as most when it comes to lunatic challenges and yet Wenger never says any of his boys did it deliberately or should never play again. I like Wenger a lot, he is a great coach, loves football, and is very articulate but sometimes he is such a two faced b'stard!

That's not true actually Keef:

H?land retired through injury in 2002, although he claimed on his website that this was not caused by Keane's tackle.

I think that Roy Keane tackle on H?land was cowardly - and if any player ever deserved a life long ban it was Roy Keane. It was a totally disproportionate pre-meditated revenge assault - but that's Roy Keane for you, Manchester United to the bone.
Wish I'd never mentioned it now. Yes I think Keane is am individual is a nasty nasty piece of work, however good a player he was. Didn't want to start another your team is nasty arguement though. SP, fair enough, I didn't know that, but it still doesn't exactly excuse the thugs behaviour.

Roy Keane may explain his thuggish behaviour* as the result of Alf-Inge Haaland sneering over him when he got a serious injury at Elland Road - what Keane may have forgotten is the injury at Elland Road was caused by a miss timed tackle from behind on Haarland which Haarland may have considered to have been an attempt to break his legs.

He he - great argument that. :-S

When you say Gerard SP, do you mean Houllier? Because as a player I'd pick Keane over Gerard too. ;-)

Hmm, I dropped an 'r' somewhere.

Matthew, I'm not sure what I'm supposed to have a chip on my shoulder about?

Annasfield, I usually come in peace, but make no apologies for replying to anti-Utd posts.

I don't always have the time for a full in-depth critique response, hence the 'punchy' replies.

3-0 tonight, did you expect me to say anything else ;-)...

    • Andy is an absolute star. Have used him for years and he’s become a hugely trusted and valued friend as well as handyman. Always willing to go the extra mile and doesn’t cut corners, but great on pricing. Can’t recommend enough.
    • Surely you are still covered under these circumstances even if you don't have the physical licence? I can't believe you would be prevented from driving? That would be a ridiculous system. I don't recall any delays   when mine was renewed. Why would their medical department be involved if you have no medical issues? Could someone have made some admin mistake somewhere along the line?
    • Does anyone have the same problem.  I am 79 and have sent my licence renewal form to the DVLA on the 21st October 20 which they have received. I have just received a letter from them them dated 22 December 2025 today saying my licence is with their Drivers Medal Department and will be processed as soon as possible. This follows my telephone call to them after three weeks  from the October date as I had not received my licence back as per their time frame. I also followed this up mid December after finally getting through but did not get any confirmation as to what the situation was. Is this normal practice? On the 7 January 2026 I will be unable to drive as my licence has not been sent back. I have no medical issues and meet all the requirements with no problem as per previous renewals in fact nothing has changed health wise.Their the letter states if they need any more details from me, they will contact me directly. Why has it taken 2 and a half months get get this far? Is this some sort of ploy to get older drivers to finally give up their driving by making life difficult as possible.  Has anyone else experienced this. Read Medical not Medal.
    • You're being a little disingenuous here. It is simply not true that "the area should remain suburban 2/3 storeys maximum" because: -> the area the development is in isn't 2/3 storeys maximum today - as evidenced by the school on the lot adjoining the development to the south, as well as the similarly-sized buildings to the north and east.  -> the SPG doesn't preclude this type of development anyway. This "genie in a bottle" stuff is desperate barrel-scraping. Now you're raising the spectre of a 9 storey building on the Gibbs & Dandy site (the chance would be a fine thing) but also arguing Southwark is too slow to approve things and opposed to development more than 2-3 storeys!
