They'll be able to attract better players now that Barry has signed and I think we'll see a snowball effect that by August they will be able to entice someone like Kaka (who incidentally has reportedly just signed to Madrid for ?56m - cue photos of Ronaldo crying at swimming pool).

Sp you've surprised me.

Has Barry actually signed? I've been in the pub all evening.

If he has or does sign for city then as far as i'm concerned he's an arse. " I want to play in the champions league, bollocks, bollocks, waffle, waffle". In other words, I motivated by cold hard cash.

I'd never give up Alonso for Barry so if this has happened he has done us a favour.

Exactly as I feel.

Maybe Anna means changing colours from United to Argentina to England - what next Arsenal!?

Oh God! Just read through the last three pages. When Spurs bought Osvaldo Ardiles and Ricardo Villa back in 1978 just after Argentina had won the World Cup I remember the Spurs fans chanting "Argentina Argentina." Yup! You heard it at White Hart Lane first.

Champion HiIl, do you mean Dulwich Hamlet. What do you want to know? My son played for DH Youth team last season and he is in close contact with the guy who was the manager, Ian. Let me know what you query is and might be able to get an answer. I know AF Fisher may have some dealings/influence on Dulwich Hamlets future

I mentioned my thoughts on squad restrictions recently and no one was interested. A subject ignored and shoved under the carpet as not being important. Instead it seems I have stoked the football intelligentsia of East Dulwich with an honest, clean joke about changing colours from Argentina to England!

At this point I should say Liverpool were guilty of singing another team's name, back in '92 the Kop went balmy singing 'Leeds, Leeds, Leeds!' ... after Liverpool beat Man U to give Leeds the title. Also on another occasion the old Kop roared mid-game on hearing latest score from Yorkshire, 'Wednesday three, United two - Hallelujah!'

Was that ignored? I really did mean to comment.

Restricting squad size might work. I can see a case for it but it has to be consistent across Europe, or the world, or it's an unfair restriction. I would also add that I'd like to see some sort of appeals panel if your team was decimated by injury otherwise it would be a farce.

Anna, are you penning that resignation letter yet? I see you are now in bed with the enemy. ;)

The squads will inevitably suffer from injuries, but the call for replacements should be limited to u18 players of the club's home nation. That way squad restrictions would enable more home grown youths to break through - rather than likes of Bolton streaming in van loads of continental mercenaries every summer.

    • Leon has come out at short notice to sort a few electrical things for me. Efficient, reliable, friendly and knowledgeable, I highly recommend him.  Thanks Leon.
    • Well hello Manor men, I went to PM from 74-79. I was in O and Churchill. I can’t remember my tutor but do remember a number of bods. I’ve read a number of posts here about PM and recognise some things. Mudway was an arse. Hardly ever changed his suit.  Guys I remember are Alan Palmer, Wayne Peck ( had an older brother at the school and I think lived Peckham Road, Longleigh House), Owen McClery, Junior Gayle(Wing Chung master), David Banton , Steven Green ( I think he had green eyes), Rodney Evelyn, David Barton, Raymond Gillman (deceased), Neil Warner, Horace Marshaleck (deceased), Steven Watson (two years younger) I have a picture somewhere of the school winning a cross country event against other schools in the South London Press I think.  Teachers - Miss Pugh, Mr and Mrs Webster, Mr Thomas, New French teacher 1978/79 Miss Anspach, Mr Baugh, Mr Nelson, Mr Patel, Mr Sparks, Mr Dowse, African PE teacher, hard as nails, Mr Fenton for careers, Mr Kemel Also, my brother attended Adrian Lewis, a year younger.
    • One gentleman who kept the boards up to date with community notices i.e. local residents' association events, East Dulwich Community Centre, sadly died a few years ago. He never had the keys to the NX Rd board as this was outside his ward (now known as Dulwich Hill). The council changed the locks on the boards and we do not know who was given the keys. The gentleman's widow carries on with posting community notices but only on the odd couple of boards whose locks have been broken and she can lift the cover. If I remember correctly, it was the Lib. Dem councillors in ED that initiated the boards.
    • Thanks, that’s very sensible advice  and I’ll most likely follow it. I shouldn’t need anything from them, and if anything, they may end up needing me as they’re likely to go first. Really appreciate your support.
