Ha, ha. That's hilarious. Green is as Scouse as they come....and slightly racist but we'll brush over that.

Obviously Arsenal were always going to be the better team. I had thought Celtic would be more attacking in their team selection - One up front is defeatist (and that one should have been McDonald rather than Samaras, who is rubbish).

Arsenal looked a good side but needed a bit of luck. They had only 5 shots on target, which is probably less than they would have in most premiership games.

But there can be no arguements about the winner. They deserved to come out on top. 1-0 might have given us some hope. I don't fear for Celtic at the Emirates, although we rarely win away from home we are rarely embarrassed either.

I can't go without one little whinge about the referee - he obviously thinks football is a non contact sport. Its a mans game and Arsenal played on his softness. Certainly not a homer.

Alan Green may be a Pool fan, but Jesus he covers it well. He kisses manc arse at every opportunity, and he is Northern Irish, but thinks he's English. For example saying that he fears for "us" when referring to the England team, how the fcuk is he English???? I hate the man and would love to see him ousted from broadcasting, he is about as impartial as Adolf Hitler the coont.

As for Celtic, big fish small pond.

But last night wasn't the Champions League. It was a qualifying tie to GET INTO the Champions League!!!!

Really, that's weird. I was just talking to my father-in-law about him walking away. Who has suspended betting? I think it's unlikely but hey, stranger things have happened.

just on to my mate a Sky Sports News to see if he's working and if he's heard anything.

No mention at all on BBC, only a prematch interview with him saying he is shocked at reaction to opening day loss, feels a win tonight could change everything.

Maybe it hinges on tonight's result... Seems very unlikely at this stage, although he can't be pleased with his transfer kitty.

Anyway, can't see this result lasting 90 minutes, but fair play to Burnley, apparently a cracking goal, then a penalty save!

    • If it was limited to a couple of days a year, so we all knew, that would be fine. In the last few years (and it is a recent thing) you get random fireworks going off any time after dusk for half the year. It does more than cause problems for pets and wildlife- it can mean lasting damage and massive expense and hassle for pet owners. All because some get a buzz out of loud bangs.
    • Ohh dear.  Fireworks can be great fun.  Where I used to live the kids would have firework wars/games.  Watching them was more enjoyable than watching  TV. (Which you could hardly hear due to the pops and bangs).  It's not like anyone/anything could stop them. I would still prefer organised public displays that are affordable.   And I agree that fireworks cause problems for wild life, pets and people.   It seems to be one of those things that just happens so we have to put up with it.  But it is still not as problematic here as in other areas in London - that's for sure.
