Keef what a load of bollox. This has nothing to do with a Liverpool scarf. This is about justice. Your Harold Shipman analogy is misguided to say the least.

Belarus might be crap kpc but when a team disintegrates they can lose to anyone as Liverpool did only other week to Villa.

Tut tut, Sanddune, aren't you supposed to be all grown up and mature. As for rantings, I've no personal vendetta aginst you, I just despise your odious club. Simple. Don't take it personally old chap, it goes with the territory for a forces of darkness supporter. Your constant whining about being picked on is exceedingly tiresome my old chou. ;-) I've discovered whatchermacallums.

Matt, Belarus have very little quality. The Vile have some quality (very begrudging) but that still does not excuse the way you fell apart to them.

Young or Milner - who's most likely to make World Cup squad. Young may have pace but think Milner is better player overall.

I am grown up. I asked you a straight question, what school year are you in? Nothing childish about that. The only conclusion I have come to about you is that you are a school kid masquerading as an adult. You can tell us all now. Are you bunking off double maths? I also take nothing you say personally for this reason. I tend to feel sorry for people like you and supporters of your club. :))

On the evidence of your conduct Sandbag I would guess I'm a lot older than you. You act just like a spoilt kid that can't handle it when he doesn't get his own way. If you want to have a dig at others don't expect them to just sit back and stay quiet, because it doesn't work that way. You've got some neck complaining about others when you're just as guilty of the offecnces you claim others have committed, still that's Man Ure all over isn't it. Just like Rooney being an honest player. Don't make me laugh, that's like saying Genghis Khan was a bit naughty.

Well Barry, Lampard and Beckham are all probably going to be in the WC Squad so I'd doubt Capello would pick another slow coach in midfield as England could be pulled all over the park if they happen to have matches at altitude. I remember Mexico City '86 when Maradona never faced a tackle because the England team were too slow to cut him down - pace pays and that's why I think Young is ahead of Milner.
Croatia should be a forgone conclusion tonight. I wouldn't be suprised if we screw it up or at least make it difficult for ourselves but what's the betting that we qualify easily and then don't make it out of the group stages in SA after a winter of hype? Who should we put money on for the last minute injury scare this time around?
Milner is a better passer of the ball and tackler - I think he's more adept at playing either side of the pitch. Young is most likely to get his place if Walcott is unfit. Think there are at least half a dozen outfield places up for grabs plus which goalkeepers would you take. James for experience. Green has had panic moments in all of his recent England experiences but will probably go. Robinson may struggle for form at Blackburn. Carson??? Hart has put in four good performances for Birmingham so far and could make a strong case by the end of the season.

All the goalkeeper options are weak - England are screwed in that position whoever they pick.

David James is great when he is busy but put him in the situation of national importance like a semi final with nothing much to do and he is likely to drop the simplest cross in front of goal. Foster, Carson have fundamental flaws. Hart, Green are too error prone. Robinson is probably the best technically behind James but his confidence might be too shattered to ever return. Don't even mention Kirkland.

Foster has to be in with a shout, but he's been a bit shaky at the start of the season. I can't see Milner changing a game but could see Lennon doing something special. If the Brum defence carries on as it has then I think Hart would be a good back up.

    • I have sympathy with any voter, anyone, who having witnessed the last 14 years and then Labour in the last year and wonders just how can things be this bad  unless a) they voted for brexit b) voted Tory after 2010 c) is thinking of voting reform  because anyone who thinks reform won’t make things a thousand times worse after voting for the previous?  It is they who are the problem.  They are the reason the country is in the doldrums with an embarrassingly-timid Labour government
    • In what way? Maybe it just felt more intelligent and considered coming directly after Question Time, which was a barely watchable bun fight.
    • Yes, all this. Totally Sephiroth. The electorate wants to see transformation overnight. That's not possible. But what is possible is leading with the right comms strategy, which isn't cutting through. As I've said before, messaging matters more now than policy, that's the only way to bring the electorate with you. And I worry that that's how Reform's going to get into power.  And the media LOVES Reform.
    • “There was an excellent discussion on Newscast last night between the BBC Political Editor, the director of the IFS and the director of More In Common - all highly intelligent people with no party political agenda ” I would call this “generous”   Labour should never have made that tax promise because, as with - duh - Brexit, it’s pretending the real world doesn’t exist now. I blame Labour in no small part for this delusion. But the electorate need to cop on as well.  They think they can have everything they want without responsibilities, costs or attachments. The media encourage this  Labour do need to raise taxes. The country needs it.  Now, exactly how it’s done remains to be seen. But if people are just going to go around going “la la laffer curve. Liars! String em up! Vote someone else” then they just aren’t serious people reckoning with the problem yes Labour are more than a year into their term, but after 14 years of what the Tories  did? Whoever takes over, has a major problem
