I only saw the 2nd half, and tbh I was more disgusted in the quality of the Guinness than the play acting of Ronaldo.

Parker's histrionics were pathetic. He was trying to get the other player sent off rolling around as if he'd been shot.

Tottenham were superb last night. I really thought that Boro could have been another banana skin as they had suddenly struck form with a couple of good results including beating Liverpool 2-0. Great to see Robbie Keane back in form and scoring and creating goals again.

I'd be very surprised if Aaron Lennon isn't picked in the next England squad, whenever he gets the ball people are up on their feet in anticipation that something good is going to happen and this season usually does.

Quids you're right. Newcastle are looking in seriously deep shit.

If I recollect correctly, Liverpool wanted to re-sign Owen for the same amount they'd sold him to Real Madrid. All that was blown out of the water when Newcastle came in with their crazy ?17m offer. With transfer deadline loomimg, Liverpool advised Owen to reject the Newcastle offer as Real Madrid would crumble and agree to the Liverpool deal once Owen made it clear it was only Liverpool he would join. Whether Real Madrid would have budged in another matter but what is clear is that Owen would have been better sitting it out in Spain rather than exposing his sensitive hamstrings to the crippling North Sea wind.

Ranger's result reminded me of the Sun headline when Caley beat Celtic...

'Super Caley go balistic,

Celtic are atrocious'...

After Liverpool drew at Stoke in early January, and Liverpool 4 points clear Rafa rallied his players for the run in to the title with this comment to the media: -

?It could be that it takes fewer points to win the title because you can lose games you expect to win. This could be the situation at the end of the season.?

That headline meant the end of john barnes and his replacement was martin o neill so that loss was a real positive for celtic. But yes it was a great headline..

Back to a day when the fan's had wit. My, slightly bias, example....on a banner (sheet on two broom poles) at the 1980 Cup Final "Devonshire Cream, Rice Pudding"

For anyone under 40, Alan Devonshire=West Ham genius, Pat Rice=Arsenal donkey...

Have Souness' Men got the Heart to Bypass Pompey?

Sadly they did but it made me laugh, as did a big pink inflatable pig thrown over the fence into the scousers in the shared Holte end on which someone had magic markered "Jan Molby"

I remeber on fantasy football league some years ago there was a sing in honour of the early german exit. Went something like - we wanted to play like Muller, Beckenbaur, Rumenigge... but instead we played like Kuntz!

Was to the tune of Nessum Dorma if anyone's interested.

I'll ge me coat.....

    • It is just a witch hunt. The estate agent has taken responsibility. FFS leave the poor woman alone.
    • As said, why are you not eating humble pie for a non-story? I expect that scores of landlords are unaware or made mistakes in this territory.  And this is not just the Chancellor but a married couple.  It feels like you and others are taking joy in demonising her. The only question would be is the house suitable for renting out?  I expect it is, and if not that is up to Southwark to take action rather than keyboard warriors.  The only surprises are the expense of licensing - surely time for a thread on "is licensing a money maker for local authorities?".  I'm being facetious.  And that the cost of rental, which feels fairly reasonable based on this area. By all means go after rogue landlords.  Be my guest.  I was horrified to see some of the properties rented in London and beyond by family members.  Not all bad. Oh and another question.  Haven't I got better things to do than comment on this 'no story here' thread?  😁
