Went over to Upland Road yesterday and found the jewellers open and business as usual.

It's amazing, considering what they've been through in the last week, but Mac (the jeweller) says they refuse to be intimidated and went on to express his thanks to all the people who have been in touch and have sent them messages of support.

They're a great asset to East Dulwich and if you've not been over to their shop then go and see what you're missing. They've also got a lovely dog called Gem, who is in charge of greeting new customers!

Well I never thought I would write to the forum

But it is a platform that I can use to thank all the people that have shown us support over the last few days.

Many people and our clients will know that we make each item by hand, and each item becomes part of us.

I am not going to let four youn men come, even with a knife, axe and hammers take what we have made and love.-

Bo and I just got into a fight? but one that was brought upon us!

Again we would like to thank so mony people we dont know for the support- thanks also the police, ambulance crew, and flying squad.

    • At the time of posting previously, we had no idea of the dates we would be having the children. The maths place - you pay for a course of lessons . The coding session would be good but you need to book well in advance. Also grandson has been doing coding since 6 years old. He now has a 'mentoring role' at his primary school as his knowledge of this subject is years above his chronological age. Dates are still up in the air as their father is trying to juggle leave from a new job in the north of the country.
    • why not have a pasty shop - we could have Cornish pasties, Jamaican patties, empanadas from all the different regions.... I like all three.  I'm still going to support the Chacarero family business, as I don't support chains, just as I don't buy anything from Gail's, Nero, Starbucks etc.
    • Thought it had been a fish and chip shop at one time?
    • Try Gentrification, those with more money than sense who constantly want something different, when pie and mash isn't good enough for them.  "Argentinian Cornish pasties" give3 me a proper Cornish pastie any day of the week, at least I'd be supporting something traditionally British.   ps. tin hat at the ready........................🤣
