andy&kez
I would have just thrown her into a cab and got her home. I have done that once in the past and I have to be honest it did cross my mind to take advantage but that little angel on my shoulder told me not to ( I think its called a conscience!). The thing is you never know if one of the rugby blokes may not have been so honourable! jaybee82
Its all fair comment to be honest. Probably wouldnt have done the same given time to think. At one point she did kneel down and tap the leg of a bearded man at the bar who looked like a captain and yelled 'show us your peg leg boss' interspersed with parrot noises/'give us a kiiiiss' which I did think was quite funny mind you. jaybee82
After a bit of sniffing around on Facebook I found out she did, safe and sound. My mate also text her the next day and she cobbled a few words back to the same effect. Jah Lush
Have you called her to apologise for leaving her in such a state and to find out if she got home all right? I'm sure she's extremely embarrased about being so drunk but you should at least try to find out if she is ok. jaybee82
To be honest knowing shes OK is enough for me. It sounds cowardly but with her turning up in a state in the first place I think we're evens now. RosieH
no high horse, I just think people should try to be a little kinder to each other. You were decidedly unkind and I don't think that's anything to show off aboutActually that does sound a little high-handed, sorry. it isn't meant to - I love hilarious dating stories - but in this instance, it sounds like you left a vulnerable woman in a potentially dangerous situation and that doesn't strike me as very funny Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/5311-dating-disaster/page/3/#findComment-170249 Share on other sites

Keef - Not sure I agree with your point of view that as he didn't get her drunk, then it wouldn't be rape if she consented but regretted it afterwards (and he had done nothing to mess with her head), compared to if he got her drunk himself.... It sort of (and I am not implying it should) gives an excuse to anyone who commits date rape, or any dodgy taxi driver who may well claim, "I didn't get her drunk and she did consented to sex in a lonly dark car park because she was drunk (Subtext 'but can't remember if she did or didn't consent because she was drunk at the time')" Not sure I support your view or ethics on this one.Whoa there, can't let that one go. Fine if you don't agree with me, but don't go claiming you know my ethics! I was just suggesting that I wasn't sure it would be classed as rape had a drunk girl asked him for sex and he'd agreed. I made no suggestion of what I thought was morally right or wrong either way, and I don't really like what you implied there! For the record, I don't chase down drunk girls, and I think it's a pretty sleezy way to act. I made the (probably bad) joke about him being "in there", and sort of wish I hadn't, but all I was doing was discussing the legal possibility of the situation, I wasn't implying that it's okay to behave that way, because it won't be rape! LegalEagle-ish
Sorry Keef, but the law changed in 2004 re the definition of rape and if a girl is comatose or totally off her tits she can't give consent, so it is rape. Here is some helpful information about the Sexual Offences Act 2003 which goes into some detailon the meaning of consent for anyone interested! jaybee82
I think I'd like to be referred to as 'Man X' from now on...!I'm with you Keef...there is clearly a funny side to this story, thats why I posted it. But in all seriousness a girl was left in a strange pub asleep against a fruit machine. Goodness knows what kind of fright she would have got if someone got the jackpot. It does make you think it's probablky not a great idea to ever have a shag after a night out, just in case she's more drunk than you realise... What if you're both drunk?Law is so unclear and full of holes, it's little wonder they get so few convictions in rape cases! SteveT
RosieH wrote:-I guess we're all out of gentleman and good samaritans these days. you deserted her in that condition.Hold hard there Rosie, she arrived in that condition, and proceeded to dump herself on to a sober male. The conversation where the words 'she is not a nutter' immediately sent out a red flag to the rest of us though.I don't see why an innocent 'date in waiting', should have to cope with an obnoxious drunken scene being foistered uponthem. Isn't everyone over the age of eighteen expected to take responsibility for their actions? If I had been to the date, having got washed with soap and dressed up, shoes and socks, well I would have hoped for a little more. Then take her home to introduce her to my pet racoon and she could then wash her self down in the horse trough.............aaah bliss, we could live happily ever after, but only in private. I wouldn't be allowing her anywhere near my local. How many of the 'condemning' forum females have arrived on a first date, in that condition?
