I would have just thrown her into a cab and got her home. I have done that once in the past and I have to be honest it did cross my mind to take advantage but that little angel on my shoulder told me not to ( I think its called a conscience!). The thing is you never know if one of the rugby blokes may not have been so honourable!

Its all fair comment to be honest. Probably wouldnt have done the same given time to think.

At one point she did kneel down and tap the leg of a bearded man at the bar who looked like a captain and yelled 'show us your peg leg boss' interspersed with parrot noises/'give us a kiiiiss' which I did think was quite funny mind you.

Hopefully they were too busy shouting unintelligibly and flicking each other's bare arses with wet towels to be a danger.

They usually are.

Wow that's harsh - I guess we're all out of gentleman and good samaritans these days - poor girl. And jaybee, sorry but your behaviour was p1ss poor - going to the toilet excuse?? May I recommend before your next date that you join the world of the vertebrates.

Or did you not tell her straight because you thought she was so drunk that she wouldn't understand, in which case examine your conscience young man that you deserted her in that condition.

no high horse, I just think people should try to be a little kinder to each other. You were decidedly unkind and I don't think that's anything to show off about

Actually that does sound a little high-handed, sorry. it isn't meant to - I love hilarious dating stories - but in this instance, it sounds like you left a vulnerable woman in a potentially dangerous situation and that doesn't strike me as very funny

Keef - Not sure I agree with your point of view that as he didn't get her drunk, then it wouldn't be rape if she consented but regretted it afterwards (and he had done nothing to mess with her head), compared to if he got her drunk himself....

It sort of (and I am not implying it should) gives an excuse to anyone who commits date rape, or any dodgy taxi driver who may well claim, "I didn't get her drunk and she did consented to sex in a lonly dark car park because she was drunk (Subtext 'but can't remember if she did or didn't consent because she was drunk at the time')"

Not sure I support your view or ethics on this one.

Whoa there, can't let that one go. Fine if you don't agree with me, but don't go claiming you know my ethics! I was just suggesting that I wasn't sure it would be classed as rape had a drunk girl asked him for sex and he'd agreed. I made no suggestion of what I thought was morally right or wrong either way, and I don't really like what you implied there!

For the record, I don't chase down drunk girls, and I think it's a pretty sleezy way to act. I made the (probably bad) joke about him being "in there", and sort of wish I hadn't, but all I was doing was discussing the legal possibility of the situation, I wasn't implying that it's okay to behave that way, because it won't be rape!

Sorry Keef, but the law changed in 2004 re the definition of rape and if a girl is comatose or totally off her tits she can't give consent, so it is rape.

Here is some helpful information about the Sexual Offences Act 2003 which goes into some detailon the meaning of consent for anyone interested!

I think I'd like to be referred to as 'Man X' from now on...!

I'm with you Keef...there is clearly a funny side to this story, thats why I posted it. But in all seriousness a girl was left in a strange pub asleep against a fruit machine. Goodness knows what kind of fright she would have got if someone got the jackpot.

Sorry Keef, but the law changed in 2004 re the definition of rape and if a girl is comatose or totally off her tits she can't give consent, so it is rape.

Cheers for clearing that up, although you don't need to say sorry, I wasn't planning on trying it out!

How does one define "completely off her tits" by the way? It does make you think it's probablky not a great idea to ever have a shag after a night out, just in case she's more drunk than you realise... What if you're both drunk?

Law is so unclear and full of holes, it's little wonder they get so few convictions in rape cases!

Hold hard there Rosie, she arrived in that condition, and proceeded to dump herself on to a sober male.

The conversation where the words 'she is not a nutter' immediately sent out a red flag to the rest of us though.

I don't see why an innocent 'date in waiting', should have to cope with an obnoxious drunken scene being foistered upon

them. Isn't everyone over the age of eighteen expected to take responsibility for their actions?

If I had been to the date, having got washed with soap and dressed up, shoes and socks, well I would have hoped for a little more. Then take her home to introduce her to my pet racoon and she could then wash her self down in the horse trough.............aaah bliss, we could live happily ever after, but only in private. I wouldn't be allowing her anywhere near my local.

How many of the 'condemning' forum females have arrived on a first date, in that condition?

    • Leon responded quickly to my online enquiry and to follow-up texts when arranging a date for the work. He replaced a faulty switch for my outdoor sensor light. I expected it would be difficult to find an electrician willing to take on such a small job. So I was really pleased to find Leon and would definitely recommend him.
    • I would not use anyone else, he now does my son and daughters boiler services and my own. He recently replaced a very old boiler and it all went well with a year guarantee.  Such a lovely person to deal with too. Very good value for money!  I couldn’t recommend him more highly.

    • Well why don’t you start totally backwards and have an idea as to what nursery and primary schools you want to target - plenty of good schools as you know each offering their own take.  large home - what are we talking about here 4/5 beds I assume with a large garden. North Dulwich Triangle - are you talking about Half Moon Lane and up to Herne Hill plus the other side say Stradella Road etc but don’t think your budget would stretch that far ! So really you want to reproduce what you have in and  around Abbeyville Road but  in Dulwich area to access both the good private and  state schools  - use to Live in Rodenhurst Road years ago - now they are nice big house with good gardens. How long do you want to commute to get to the City.? I assume you want to aces the city via ED Station or ND station and Denmark Hill Station. I know some people who actually cycle to work in the city - faster and not trapped in carriage like a sardine.! One would hope for the money you are considering spending, you won’t be undergoing major works. Dulwich Estate are not known to be the easiest to deal with and my recommendation if you are gonna be knocking down walls, building out or up is to get your self a good surveyor who is use to dealing with Dulwich Estate. My other suggestion would be to try out the trains in rush hour or when ever you both need to get into the City to work. Go walk in Dulwich Park and talk to the locals - that would give you an idea as well or do you have friends living locally. Houses around Telegraph Hill area would tick the boxes  and although limited with schooling might be OK. Good schools but not as much choice as Dulwich. To be perfectly  honest, with that budget and given the ages of your children why don’t you move to the country. -  much better for bringing up kids, commute would prob be under an hour depending on how far and which county. Your kids are still young so really education atm is not paramount. If moving to the country is too far a jump  then why don’t you consider maybe Beckenham or Bromley - lovely areas there as well. schools all decent to. Wishing you the best in your journey.
