Just had a letter through the door addressed to the Crystal Palace Tavern Cricket Club, it starts 'dear secretary...' *stifles chuckle*.

We have a choice of Belair, Burgess and Southwark parks (astro turf) and more dates that you could throw a smoked haddock at.

Who's up for it this year, and Brendan is your mate around?

lawn bowling associations are crying out for youngsters to join their ranks as current membership dies off without people replaing them anymore.

do it...dooo eeeet!!!!

and let me know if you find one, there's a good lady :)

this was my favourite in Oz, many good times spent in this place getting blotto flicking the bowls..

paddo bowls

Right Mocks Im on a mission Im going to try and find one local and we can go and play!!!!!!!!!! No shoes is a must as is the sun and the best drinking arm you've got..

Got horribly drunk with him yesterday as it happens Mockers and this very subject came up. And yes he will be around as long as he isn't playing a club match. So now all we need is Dems and the rest of us won't have to bother making any runs at all, again.

I'm in for both energetic(ish) bowling for the nominal CPT Touring XI and a dab of lawn bowls. Last year I seem to remember the Peckham Rye Lawn Bowls Club did some intro sessions.

I'm feeling all Paul Kaye already!

There were taster sessions last July, http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?6,146416,146950#msg-146950 It would appear that we had thought about it Strawbs but neither David and I or you made it. This year we definitely should! xxx

Anyone who can actually play cricket will be handy too. I think we established last year that as this is the CPT cricket team the criteria for membership are something along the lines of, drink in the CPT/have ever had a drink in the CTP/Have ever had a drink in a pub of any description/ have ever had a drink of any sort/have walked past the CPT or any other pub.

    • OMFG is it possible for the council to do anything without a bunch of armchair experts moaning about it? The library refurb is great news, as it's lovely but completely shagged out - the toilets don't even work reliably. Other libraries in the area will be open longer house during the closure. July is a rubbish time to begin a refurb because it's just before the entire construction sector goes on summer holiday, and it would mean delaying the work another 8 months.

Worth contacting her with views on ammendments to the original license. I am fairly sure she won't grant any amendments, but just in case.....
    • Second time Aria has completed a plumbing job for me and both times he’s been polite. Communicative, kept to time and completed the job. He’s very helpful and tidy as well. First job was ball valve in water tank, not easy at all. He and his team were fantastic. This time kitchen tap cylinders replaced and tap tightened.  Much appreciated, Aria thank you.
    • Thought others may be interested to help a local community centre help others.    My bank account offers roundup and it’s been growing all year. As well as treating myself or putting it towards a train ticket to see my family I’ve made a donation to the Albrighton. They can use donations at any time but I hope my donation will go towards the Christmas hampers.    Can you support them so they can provide Christmas hampers?   https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/albrightoncommunityfridge?utm_id=1&utm_term=M22JKQb6W   A donation of £50 will pay for a hamper to feed a family over this Christmas period. A donation of £30 will pay for a hamper to feed someone living on their own over the Christmas period.
