I'm speaking from my human angle on this one and I don't want to offend anyone here or start a slanging match. Do any of you guys hunt game. I do when I have the chance. I've hunted in Scotland, France, Spain and North America. Mainly taking Chinese water deer, Pronghorns, Pheasant, Pidgeons. I tried Bow hunting as I'm a very good shot at H.T field shooting but it was a bad kill which resulted in suffering. I doubt I'll hunt with a bow again. What are you're experiences?

I support hunting in theory - have never had the opportunity to do it for real. Would like to try game shooting of birds and deer.

I do fish and cook the trout that I occasionally catch - have tried to catch salmon on the River Dee - but with no joy. An excellent day out tho'.

Behave yourself Matthew. From my experience the twits that have animal heads mounted on their property are prone to having a few bob so essentially you'd be enticing a burglar into your home and with me above the door I wouldn't be able to protect your wifes Thripeny bits and Crown jewels now would I?

I'm on it already mate as they've been flogging under weight bags of weed to the local Squirrels and it's high time I sorted them out which means that unfortunatly there's going to be a lot more sceaming and wailing tonight but hopefully the toe cutting should be finished by mid morning.

You're getting much better Woof, much better but I hear that daddies dissappointment was all yours, premature ejaculation can ruin even the most incestuous relationships. If you don't believe me ask your kids as I'm sure they'd be grateful of a few tips to carry on the family tradition.

hit plenty of clays in my time, but nothing breathing.

Not against it in principal, especially if you're going to eat it, just not really had the opportunity.

See threads passim on bullfighting to realise bloodsport isn't a total no-no in my book, just really posh people ;-) (idiots in mickey mouse hats and sequined lycra is obviously fine)

I have shot various furry and feathered things over the years but I don?t really enjoy hunting. I gave it a go (or got roped into it in some instances) and the one thing that killing things taught me is that I don?t like killing things.

I don?t have any moral issues against it though. In fact flogging hunting holidays to poms and yanks who want to bag themselves an African kill does wonders for funding conservation efforts and boosting the rural economy back home.

I do quite enjoy shooting stuff though, just so long as it isn?t alive.

Edited for spilling ehroars.

I've been hunting with friends for quayle in the med many years ago as they like to eat that. There were not many about really so just ended up shooting targets instead. I've also been shooting in the galleries with live ammunition in the Czech republic with a forumite friend, where bizzarly enough you can go into a gun shop rent any gun and shoot in their underground gallery. You need to provide ID such as a passport though. That was then though and maybe things have changed.

    • I'd put short odds on that but who would be his likely successor?
    • Hi, I went to the council's planning portal to look at the application, and I encourage others to look at it. It looks like a pleasant building, with thoughtful landscaping. as Pugwash said, the big oak would be retained, only two smaller trees are supposed to be cut, one of which is already dead according to the Tree Survey. It sounds like 38 people in great need of it will gain supported housing thanks to this development, a very positive change. Of course a solution has to be found for the 3 who will need to find other accommodation during the works, but that doesn't seem enough of a reason to oppose the development. The current building is 4 stories, so I would be surprised if one extra storey was considered objectionable, especially considering the big oak stands between the building and the neighbours' back gardens and the fact that the neighbours it's backing onto are all 5 stories houses themselves or only have blank walls facing the building. In the context where affordable housing is sorely missing, a 100% supported housing development is great news. Personally I've never seen a less objectionable planning request
    • I also wonder if all this, recently events and so many u turns is going to also be the end of Kier Starmer.
    • And I replied: Mandelson and Trump have much in common. They are both shallow, vulgar and vain. They both fetishise wealth and power, irrespective of who holds it or how it was accumulated. They were both close friends and associates of the late Jeffrey Epstein and have moved in the same circles, as Ghislaine Maxwell’s address book allegedly confirms. Recognising another who is utterly transactional and lacking in a moral compass, there’s every chance of “Petie” fitting right in Mar-a-Largo. That Starmer couldn’t anticipate that Mandelson’s past behaviour would be problematic just proves how inept this government is.
