All in one Fridays are at the East Dulwich Community Centre on Darrell Road. It's drop in and runs from 10-12 but can get busy so best to arrive at 10 or shortly after to guarantee getting in. People start drifting off from 11.30 usually. It's soft play, craft and music - and works well with two as it's all in one room and self-contained so you can keep an eye on the toddler if you need to feed the baby. We can't make tomorrow but I'd be up for meeting next week. Free Friday but also Weds and Thurs (without toddler) if anyone else is? Hope things get moving soon for you Harriet and Jo...

Alexia

Sorry if I missed meet up today. No baby here yet either... I have a final fling of lunch and cinema planned next Friday as Pea's at playgroup and it's my EDD but around rest of the week if anyone fancies doing anything. Alexia/anyone else, I'm Toddler-less on weds if you feel like a coffee, otherwise with Pea rest of the week and keen for any park outings!

Jo hope your sweep is a success and we get a new baby update this weekend. X

Baby boy born yesterday at kings.

Benjamin is over the moon to finally have his little brother here.

Also in same boat as a couple of others and no name decided on yet!

Baby latched on straight away, has made such a big difference to first time round experience.

Congratulations Sally, Ruth and Mo and look forward to a meet up in a few weeks.

Annabelle x

Congratulations Annabelle and great to hear feeding is going well!

Looking forward to hearing updates on names. We finally settled on Sophie for our little one.

With unbelievable timing, Hannah went down with chicken pox last weekend so Sophie and I have been camped at my mum's for nearly a week (only time will tell if this was a pointless exercise). Hoping to reunite the family this weekend so once I'm sure H is no longer contagious we'd love to catch up with everyone.

Good luck to you ladies waiting on the arrival of your little ones - I'll keep checking for your news.

Sally x

Oh Sally, how rubbish. Poor little Hannah. Hope she's on the road to recovery now.

Congrats Annabelle! Great to hear Benjamin is excited with the new arrival. How funny that we have another nameless one! I worry that we'll be in the same situation, the way our conversations are going!

The second sweep didn't go well - did you know things can actually regress between sweeps? Well they can, and I'm certainly no closer than I was on my first sweep on Wednesday, worse even! Arrrgghh!

Good luck for a birth or 2 over the weekend!

Ah, congratulations Annabelle. Names are definitely tricky, we kept trying out different names and settled on Edward, nothing like any of the others I thought we would go for!!

We are still struggling with feeding and jaundice and so back at the hospital on Friday, sorry to miss you guys. Really looking forward to hearing of some more babies xx

Mo, Georgie and Edward x

Congratulations Annabelle and sorry to hear that Hannah's got chicken pox Sally. Hope she is on the mend and that camping out at your mum's has meant Sophie hasn't caught it.

I'm toddler free on Wednesday and wondered if anyone fancies meeting up for a coffee at the french cafe on forest hill rd, by Peckham rye park, next to the co-op at around 10.30am?

Hope everything goes well on Monday Jo if your baby hasn't arrived by then.

Ruth x

Congratulations Annabelle, so glad it all went well and Benjamin is excited, gives me hope!

Sally, what a time your having! Hope Hannah is over the worse by now. Fingers crossed Tess doesn't get it, nursery is a mixed blessing at times.

Jo, can't believe sweeps can regress! However, good luck next week as at least you know your little one is soon to make an appearance.

Ruth, Wednesday sounds good, particularly as I can't see anything happening for me before then, see you then.

Hx

Oh no! Poor Hannah! Hope she's not suffering too badly Sally. Jo I think you need to have words with your cervix, a similar thing happened to one of my friends, but she then had really straightforward 8 hour induction so wasn't all bad. Hope your baby makes an appearance just before you are due to be induced but have childcare sorted.

Still no signs here either, despite excessive date consumption. Hope I don't have to resort to floor scrubbing to get this baby moving. Pea didn't come until I cleaned the skirting boards.

Ruth I'm keen for weds morning meet too and should be toddler free as well. Hopefully newborn pheromones from Zach will work their magic! X

More baby news... After finally going in for my induction last night, with just a little drama, I had our little girl, Sienna in the middle of the night. She's gorgeous and we're all smitten with her. Max is especially proud of 'his' baby.

I'd keep eating those dates girls, my 8 hour labour might not be as short as others, but it beats the 45 hours I had last time!

Looking forward to catching up when I've recovered.

Jo, Max & Sienna

Congratulations Jo, brilliant news and I'd just forced down my 6 dates with a cuppa. Still no movement here.

Sorry Mo, I to seem to have missed sending commiserations for your hospital visits, hope things are resolved now.

I thought we were meeting 10.30 at the French cafe tomorrow?

Hx

Aah brilliant. Thanks Harriet. Sorry, I am clearly not reading thread properly on phone. See you all then.

Jo, that's wonderful news, and I'd say 8 hours is pretty decent going! Hurrah for you and Sienna and big brother Max!

I've got two dates to go.

Good evening! Congratulations and well done to all the new births, I think 8 hours is pretty super going! If it's ok, may I gatecrash the French Cafe meet? I tried all-in-one, on Friday, but didn't really get a chance to talk to anyone, my son (the 'energetic' one!), I think needs the space of outdoors to truly release all his mayhem! He shall be left with his dad tomorrow, and I will come with the new one only...those heady days of being mum to one, and coffee and cake dates with quiet littles...

I actually don't remember any but a couple of faces, from my only attendance to the first EDT meet, so if someone doesn't mind, can you pm me your mobile number, just in case there's another big group of mums with babies or bumps in there...hey, it's possible in ED! Please and thanks!

Hi all,

Congrats Annabelle and Jo!

I wondered when I got a flurry of alerts earlier if you'd have your news Jo! And I'd definitely take 8 hours! Had my dates earlier ;)

Mo, hope things all better now and poor you Sally with the pox!

Seriously thinking of immunising Amber to avoid that, esp when #2 is v small!!

Unforch can't make tomo as my Mum's arriving at 11, hope you have a good catch up.

Looking forward to the next news!

    • Per Cllr McAsh, as quoted above: “We are currently updating our Enforcement Policy and changes will allow for the issuing of civil penalties ranging from £175 to £300 for visible smoke emissions, replacing the previous reliance on criminal prosecution. " Is anyone au fait with the Clean Air Act 1993, and  particularly with the state of 'Smoke Control' law and practice generally?  I've just been looking  through some of it for the first time and, afaics, the civil penalties mentioned  were introduced into the Clean Air Act, at Schedule 1A, in May 2022.  So it seems that, in this particular,  it's a matter of the enforcement policy trailing well behind the legislation.  I'm not criticising that at all, but am curious.
    • Here's the part of march46's linked-to Southwark News article pertaining to Southwark Council. "Southwark Council were also contacted for a response. "Councillor James McAsh, Cabinet Member for Clean Air, Streets & Waste said: “One of Southwark’s key priorities is to create a healthy environment for our residents. “To achieve this we closely monitor legislation and measures that influence air pollution – our entire borough apart from inland waterways is designated as a Smoke Control Area, and we also offer substantial provision for electric vehicles to promote alternative fuel travel options and our Streets for People strategy. “We as a council support the work of Mums for Lungs and recognise the health and environmental impacts of domestic solid fuel burning, particularly from wood-burning appliances. “We are currently updating our Enforcement Policy and changes will allow for the issuing of civil penalties ranging from £175 to £300 for visible smoke emissions, replacing the previous reliance on criminal prosecution.  “This work is being undertaken in collaboration with other London boroughs as part of the pan-London Wood Burning Project, which aims to harmonise enforcement approaches and share best practice across the capital.” ETA: And here's a post I made a few years ago, with tangential relevance.  https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/278140-early-morning-drone-flying/?do=findComment&comment=1493274
    • The solicitor is also the Executor. Big mistake, but my Aunt was very old, and this was the Covid years and shortly after so impossible to intervene and get a couple of close relatives to do this.  She had no children so this is the nephews and nieces. He is a single practitioner, and most at his age would have long since retired - there is a question over his competence Two letters have already gone essentially complaining - batted off and 'amusingly' one put the blame on us. There are five on our side, all speaking to each other, and ideally would work as a single point of contact.  But he has said that this is not allowed - we've all given approval to act on each others behalf. There are five on her late husband's side, who have not engaged with us despite the suggestion to work as a team, There is one other, who get's the lion's share, the typicical 'friend', but we are long since challenging the will. I would like to put another complaint together that he has not used modern collective communication (I expect that he is incapable) which had seriously delayed the execution of the will.   I know many in their 80s very adept with smart phones so that is not an ageist comment. The house has deteriorated very badly, with cold, damp and a serious leak.  PM me if you want to see the dreadful condition that it is now in. I would also question why if the five of us are happy to work together why all of us need to confirm in writing.             The house was lived in until Feb 23, and has been allowed to get like this.
