I need abit of training first Mogs. Got smashed all over the place yesterday. I cant remember silly but vital thinks like what points the coloured squares give. Basically I cant remember how to play. Also I press SEEK GAME go onto the graph and click on a name, then when I put my tiles down it says tiles not connected.

HELP

Have any of you ever encountered 'Super Scrabble'? Just been to visit 99 year-old great aunt who is a Scrabble keeno and this was one of her birthday presents. Bigger board, double the amount of tiles and quadruple letter and word scores ... I fear there's no going back to a normal board after some of the scores we've just enjoyed.

Yes, I have to admit I'm a bit of a scrabble fan and have the following version

Classic Scrabble

Original Scrabble

Super Scrabble

Party Scrabble

Travel Scrabble

I think that might be it.

But I really want Deluxe Scrabble - Hey it's my birthday tomorrow, so I'm hoping my husband has remembered that it was something I've wanted for a while. So fingers crossed.

If I do happen to get it for my birthday, I will want to have a game, so if anyone wants to suggest a pub, time, day etc - I'm sure I could make it. (although not to tomorrow evening, because it my birthday - Not sure if I've mentioned it enough).

That is such a shame Grons, I guess I'm lucky that when I'm at home my work laptop allows me to play online, even when I VPN in.

But when I'm in the office the firewalls give me grief too, I guess they might want me to do some work.

Anyway, I play online scrabble via www.isc.ro - you have to download wordbiz, but I guess you would have to have admin rights to your laptop to enable you to do this.

Another Scrabble Night - I'm just waiting for people to throw in some dates and venues. I'm usually easy persuaded.

Oh and thanks for the birthday greeting :))

    • thanks Jenijenjen and all - yes, i remember walking or taking the bus from the elephant (where i was working) to Camberwell to get there.  I think Tim - who's still at Franklin's -  was there in those days, and the woman who ran the cafe!  Other food places that i remember fondly are the ones in Neal's Yard (with the Hunkin sculpture that you could put a coin in ) and the basement lunch place at the Tottenham Court Road junction with Hanway Street...
    • Did you try the emergency number posted above? It mentions lift breakdowns over the festive period outside the advertised  times. Hope you got it sorted x
    • People working in shops should not be "attempting to do the bill in their head." Nor if questioned should they be  trying to "get to an agreeable number." They should be actually (not trying to) getting to the correct number. I'm afraid in many cases it is clearly more than incorrect arithmetic. One New Year's Eve in a restaurant (not in East Dulwich but quite near it) two of us were charged for thirty poppadoms. We were quite merry when the bill came, but not so merry as to not notice something amiss. Unfortunately we have had similar things happen in a well established East Dulwich restaurant we no longer use. There is also a shop in East Dulwich which is open late at night. It used not to display prices on its goods (that may have changed). On querying the bill, we several times found a mistake had been made. Once we were charged twice for the same goods. There is a limit to how many times you can accept a "mistake".  There is also a limit to how many times you can accept the "friendly" sweet talking after it.
    • Adapted not forced.  As have numerous species around the world.  Sort of thing that Attenborough features.  Domestic dogs another good example - hung around communities for food and then we become the leader of the pack.  Not sure how long it will take foxes to domesticate, but some will be well on their way.    Raccoons also on the way https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c1j8j48e5z2o
