A pint of the proper Stella for BBW please Dermot, and put another in the pipe for him.

Oh and one for yourself.

Dermot, a pint of Biddingtons for our friend Mike, and then two and a half to three 'in the pipe'.

On no account must he be allowed five, he's a musician and we want him to bring his 'axe' and do some numbers.

I'm requesting 'Streets Of London' and 'Telegram Sam'

Well done RonnieMama, you brightened up our Xmas with this one.

A 'meal in a glass indeed'.

To be truthful Dermot's a bit of purist when it comes to adulterating the black stuff and is expressing some reluctance about the order.

I'll have a word and get back to you.

For no good reason I can think of Asset, at a quarter to seven on a March Sunday evening this seems like the best idea I've heard since lunchtime.

Dermot, make it four Tequila Sunrises and stay close at hand.

Money's no object Karter.

Can I make that water, soda water, lime and a quadruple vodka.

If it was good enough for Jeffrey Bernard it's good enough for you.

It's OK RonnieMama, Dermot's left a pint of Guinness on the counter of the saloon bar and a large measure of Tia Maria on the table of the snug. He reckons what happens to them after that he knows nothing about officially and has nothing to do with him, and his barman's conscience is clear.

Though he looked a bit worried and I'm sure I heard him mutter something about 'rendition'.

Anyway, cheers!

Must I leave, Honaloochie?

(said in 50's Noel Cowerd film sort of way)

Two glasses if you please steward. And a little privacy if you wouldn't mind.

(said in a Trevor Howard film sort of way)

You are a gentleman sir!

And I may be able to sort you out for the Mott the Hoople thing. I?ve got a mate who has a cousin whose brother is in the music business. Ticket distribution specifically. Gav or Baz or Mic or something. Geezer operates out of the West End. No fixed place of business as such, more of a ?take the business to the customers? operation. It?s what punters want these days, convenience. It?s all very cutting-edge. I even heard him say something about diversifying into the internet with some foreign business concerns.

Anyway when gig time comes around maybe you scratch my back, I scratch his and he scratches yours as it were. Which is all hopefully more hygienic than it sounds.

Now can I smoke one of these Marlboros in here or do I have to go to the beer garden? You know that clutch of white plastic chairs the brewery came and deposited out back between the bins and the window to the men?s bogs.

    • Hello my name is Kat and I’m currently training in Solution Focused Clinical Hypnotherapy with CPHT London, and I’m offering free online hypnotherapy sessions as part of my professional training.  This is a safe, modern, and well-researched approach that helps people break free from the negative cycles of anxiety, low mood, and stress, and move toward calm, confidence, and lasting positive change. I’m studying CPHT’s accredited training, led by experienced, practising hypnotherapists, which is widely recognised as the UK's gold standard in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy. Over my training, I’ve already seen great results, and I’m now looking for volunteers who may benefit from support with 🌿 Anxiety and low mood (including stress, sleep issues, or IBS) What’s included: 💫 A full course of free weekly sessions (typically 8–12 weeks) 💫 Insight into how your brain works, and how to work with it 💫 Practical tools to feel calmer, more confident, and in control What’s required: ✔️ Commitment to weekly sessions ✔️ A stable internet connection for online sessions I have an enhanced DBS check and am a student member of the National Council for Hypnotherapy and the Association for Solution Focussed Hypnotherapy. If you’d like to take part or have any questions, please send me a direct message to book an initial consultation. I’d love to hear from you Warmest Kat
    • If this is approved BT will probably apply to remove the phone box. These cost far more than they earn and are very vulnerable to vandelism. The old phone boxes are not ideal to become WiFi hubs, and will need the same level of engineering work to convert (they will be connected over copper). And they don't offer the advertising opportunity which pays for the free WiFi.
    • They're big and ugly electronic advertising boards. There's a shagged out phone box across the road that could do the same thing!
    • does seem to take up a width of the pavement that could be better used (i.e. we have to walk around it)  and I'm not sure we need advertising on the pavements. Perhaps there are benefit's I don't know of.
