Barking dogs at night in ED- why does everyone have a shouty greyhound/ whippet

Clean air- once upon a time, you could walk the bracing streets of SE22 ingesting a healthy amount of Lead and particulates- now everyone has a bloody wood burner, so the place smells like bonfire night

bloody friggin bleeding blow ins.etc

if they like country living so much, why dont they go and live there . at least cut out the bloody middleman of the Clapham-SE22-Whitstable cycle....

You should walk down my road on a chilly Winter's night, or a Summer evening numbers

Sydenham too is awash with smoke & outdoor grill aromatics

It's hell, but we are still 'Staffy' heavy with a light wippet contention making a show of late

I give it two years before we finally 'go to the dogs'

Of course Ot's right but generally, misplaced pronunciation aside perhaps, I'm on the side of the grammar feds. Nothing wrong with being gently persuaded to adopt proper usage.

Though if anyone could persuade a certain poster to use 'would have' or 'would've' or 'could have' or 'could've' instead of 'would of' or 'could of' then, for my money, they could split infinitives until the cows come slowly home.

Years ago a mate of mine posted on here. He's a bright bloke but can't spell for toffee, and some arsehole basically dismissed him completely on the basis that his spelling was bad, never mind the fact that he was making a valid point. Since then it's been a real pet hate of mine.

Although some grammar things do wind me up, but who REALLY gives a shit?

    • Ohh dear.  Fireworks can be great fun.  Where I used to live the kids would have firework wars/games.  Watching them was more enjoyable than watching  TV. (Which you could hardly hear due to the pops and bangs).  It's not like anyone/anything could stop them. I would still prefer organised public displays that are affordable.   And I agree that fireworks cause problems for wild life, pets and people.   It seems to be one of those things that just happens so we have to put up with it.  But it is still not as problematic here as in other areas in London - that's for sure.
    • I made sure to set off a few today just to rile you guys up 😇😂 Always looking for something to criticise
    • Ugly...maybe..does it bother me..NO! I think its somehow reassuring to see theres still phoneboxes around. East Dulwich may  be getrified but there may well be some elderly people who don't have mobiles and kids who may have lost theirs adults ditto etc etc. I'd rather keep it than lose it...just because i don't use it does'nt mean its not needed.  there are many eyesores in the modern world not all of them as potentially useful.
    • I strongly recommend Balayage salon in Lordship lane as everytime I visit, they make me feel very spicial with thier profisionalism and care.   I have been going there for the last 10 years maybe more, and will never exchange them for any other. They are profisional, welcoming and they also always have an offer. I feel like a new woman every time. X
