That is not at all true.. True Tea (Cay) is drunk by locals ..

Turkish Coffee T?rk kahvesi is widely drunk across Turkey and is a right ceremonial thing too.

And usually very sweet and the grinds are allowed to settle at the bottom of the cup

A Turkish coffee in parts of Cyprus doesn't go down too well either.

it isn't turkish coffee they are selling there, it's just an automated coffee machine selling latte, americano etc. we tried it and it wasn't that great to be honest even by machine standards it was very weak.

on the plus side this is the first time i've been in this shop in a long time, i really liked the previous owners and they always had good quality and interesting bits in there, but the new people seem to have ramped it all up a notch, theres a great selection of pastry/turkish bread type things in there and a lot of nice fruit and veg.

When it was Andreas's it was a Greek shop and was owned by relatives of a guy I used to work with in Telecoms.

It is a great place and is indeed a rare example of a LL business actually flogging decent stuff.

Very helpful and friendly and unpretentious.

To be fair Foxy, there's a lot of places on LL flogging decent stuff food wise but it's mainly on the mid-upper scale price wise i think we are pretty lucky with range, if only we had a decent asian supermarket like the one in Peckham i'd be happy. Non-food wise i never shop in LL

Yes I agree, I hadn't been in there for ages but I went in recently and was really impressed by the good selection of stuff they had.

    • Second time that Leon has come to the rescue . He was here within 2 hours -- ok he was working locally but he didn't have to fit me in .Shows what he's like ,he'll try and get to you asap .And he carries a number of commonly used parts and doesn't have to go off and get them . (You might think that this isn't deserving of comment ,but believe me it is ! ) Great guy ,100% recommend .
    • Hi all,   Does anyone have a two or three person tent they no longer want or need? As compact as possible would be ideal in order to carry in a bag/on a bike. Many thanks Joe
    • Today between approximately 3:30 and 4:00 PM, someone entered the back door of an estate agency and stole items from the kitchen, including a microwave and kettle. The individual then proceeded to trash the kitchen before leaving. This happened near Shawbury/Lordship Lane. If anyone saw a man carrying these items or acting suspiciously in the area around that time, please report it to the authorities and let me know. if anyone has access to cameras located near the area, your help would be appreciated.  Let’s help keep our community safe.
    • Well, that makes me feel better about my presently chaotic "office" (aka dumping ground for random stuff 😀) I do use it for an office as well though. That's what I'm supposed to be doing now, instead of mindlessly scrolling on my phone 😭
