Any films or dramas that have had one of those "wow didn't see that coming" moments

Recommended Posts

I was chatting to some friends and we ended up discussing surprise moments in flims/dramas, so I just wondered if anyone else wanted to share any.

The following were surprise moments for me

The Killing Series 1 (Danish one) - when Lund turns around and see "Sara 84" on Vaugen's sweatshirt

Sixth Sense - when you realise the character of Bruce Willis was dead all long

Manor des Source - when Cesar realises he caused the death of the son he did not know he had

Au wiedersehen Pet - when Oz gets up on stage and starts singing really well to the surprise of his friends (and me!)

Care to share?

The last episode of the first series of Broadchurch wher David Tennants character was walking towards the murderers house. We don't know which one it will be and its the combo of him walking trepeditiously down the road and through the house to the garage and then comes face to face .... Tingle down the spine. Series 2 didn't match up.

Bad Taste.

When the guy leans back against a door in a house where he's hiding, thinking he's escaped the mutant aliens, then a chainsaw pushes through the door from behind - appearing through the front of his face and sawing him in two up and down the middle.

Thanks for taking the time to share. It was interesting to see what others said.

Another two that I forgot to mention were the endings of the films "Leon" and "The Usual Suspects" - both endings came as a surprise to me.

About 12 years ago took a friend to see the digitally remastered release of Alien

Really didn't expect my friend to jump up in the air throwing popcorn everywhere and screaming like a little girlie when the Alien pops out of the chest.

He claimed he had seen it before but .... No excuse really is there 😳

Twitter went into meltdown when that happened (won't repeat)

Most unpopular character action ever - until Cecil got murdered.

It's a bit too late to complain about gratuity with GOT - it's been torture-porn and muff-shots all the way.

    • While they struggle with economics of UK plc, collectively we all suffer as a result of their ineptitude.
    • I’ve tried to find details of surgeries being held before but not found any. The section of the Southwark website that details councillors’ surgeries says that: Your locally elected Councillors will be holding a roving surgery programme in the Dulwich Hill area to enable residents to raise any local issues. Residents will be notified by letter in advance of the date, time and specific streets/roads where the surgery will take place.  Surgeries are not held in August, on Bank Holidays, Easter or in Christmas Week.  Dulwich Hill Ward Councillors I’ve never seen any notification of surgeries being held, including on the DH councillors’ social media accounts. I don’t know if any other residents of Dulwich Hill have? Neighbouring wards all seem to have times and places posted for surgeries.
    • I wouldn't feel too bad about that. It's one of the few degree areas that you can do a BA or a BSc in, so it's a fairly wide-ranging and complex subject. Certainly Truss, Kwasi and Reeves seem to struggle with it.
    • I can't access the article - what's the gist?  I took the markets getting jittery when she was crying at PMQs to be a sign that they trusted her. But maybe it was because they were simply worried about any form of instability.  The NIC hikes have stymied the economy, which we could all see a mile off. Will a wealth tax improve things? Does anyone here think the trickle down has any impact and that chasing out the super rich will help things? Or are we just seeing off the biggest contributors to the economy? And has the Kwasi approach ever worked anywhere else?  Economics is not my strong point at all, I'd love to know others' opinions, but it seems to be she has few options, especially as the party is so divided.
