Sue
There was a thread about this a while back, but I can't find it, so apologies for starting another one.I just wanted to thank all the designers, gardeners and others involved in making Peckham Rye Park look so good at the moment. It's a real pleasure to walk through it. Sue
The Sexby (?) garden is looking particularly well cared for and well weeded, and it's nice seeing ducklings and cootlets (?) on the pond with no sign of any herons, touch wood! tomskip
Totally love Peckham Rye and the park. A beautiful spot for everyone to enjoy for free, no ???, nothing. If I had to make a choice I'd say Peckham Rye over Dulwich Park (even though I've given up on the cafe at the former). Love the Sexby Garden in particular. So reviving to take a book and a sandwich and spend a lunch hour there in the sun. jimmah
Agree, took my Mum for a walk round there yesterday and it was really good. Might have to get some fritillaries (?) and make one of those garden bed things myself. And they've made a new path where the nature bit was at the edge but it's not open yet. JesusMaryandJoseph
Yes, I go there for healing, just walking by the lake and along the River Peck lifts my mood. The Rhododendron are coming out too. Absolutely beautiful. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/57111-peckham-rye-park-looks-fantastic/#findComment-840696 Share on other sites

They work very hard and we are all lucky here.We all thank you, and yes, Friends of Peckham Rye Park (and Friends of Nunhead Cemetery for that matter) are excellent groups. indiepanda
I love Peckham Rye too. Go running a couple of times a week before work and it's so much nicer now it's getting light enough to get into the park. Can't wait for the wisteria to be out in the Sexby garden, it's so beautiful. heffalump
I go through the park every week but only today discovered the wild life garden. What a gorgeous space! Really love that there are bee colonies, frogs and all kinds of insects thriving in it. It sounds lovely!I much prefer Peckham Rye Park to Dulwich Park.It seems to have more "secret" bits, and Dulwich doesn't have anything like the Sexby Garden, unless I've missed it.I think PRP got a lottery grant a few years back, which could explain why they had the money to make it so beautifully planted, but it has been very well kept since then. alice
The common is open to walk across and makes an obvious short cut and theres a bend in the railings at a certain point Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/57111-peckham-rye-park-looks-fantastic/#findComment-841813 Share on other sites
edhistory
If there is more "Greener, Cleaner" funding I would like to see the Victorian waterfalls feature re-instated.This should be relatively cheap.Best not to employ a contractor that thinks water runs uphill.John K Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/57111-peckham-rye-park-looks-fantastic/#findComment-842053 Share on other sites
