I was at The Rock Against Racism rally 1978: Victoria Park April 1978


The march started in Trafalgar Square and spilled on to the Embankment.

It was stated that when the head of the march reached Victoria Park there were still people leaving the square.


I seem to remember some controversy about Eric Clapton following an incident in August 1976.

Eric Clapton, the rock guitarist,interrupted a Birmingham concert to make a speech supporting Enoch Powell, the racist Tory MP.


It was a great day despite being pelted with bottles outside the Blade Bone Pub Bethnal Green Road, Bethnal Green

by the National Front.

Sounds like quite an experience, Fox.


Yeah... Clapton had made comments supporting Enoch Powell, and suggested that all the black people should be kicked out of Britain (when questioned about this incident relatively recently, he reiterated his support for EP). Despite the fact that he started his career as a second rate Hendrix rip-off and had a hit with a Bob Marley cover.

I dont like cafes that serve you a cup of milky water with a teabag floating in it as an excuse for a cup of tea, ... So ive just paid 70p , 80p or even a quid for someone to plonk a teabag in a mug - pah! ... Oh yeah , and capital radio and it's playlist of tripe .... Ha ha! I quite like the Eagles :)

      In part, it’s largely down to people not actually caring about anyone or anything else apart from their own gratification (btw, there are better ways to get a dopamine fix)

      If it was limited to a couple of days a year, so we all knew, that would be fine. In the last few years (and it is a recent thing) you get random fireworks going off any time after dusk for half the year. It does more than cause problems for pets and wildlife- it can mean lasting damage and massive expense and hassle for pet owners. All because some get a buzz out of loud bangs.
