We used to say 'rude' (which it was intended to be ? I have irrational rage), but 'intolerant' is the sin du jour, I suppose.

Does your irrational rage extend to calling someone a Twat to their face, or is it just limited to being behind a keyboard/touchscreen?...

'Seems' = my perception. From memory it was a quiet day for me though.

How sensationalist the BBC News has become.

Man inappropriately touches woman's knee 15 years ago, he said sorry, she says she ain't bothered.

BBC front page news says "Michael Fallon 'apologised for touching journalist's knee'"

That's not news. It's an old, miniscule incident that's trying to be used to stir up more stuff to make yet more shit news.

Note to self: Stop reading the news you moron, it's irrelevant rubbish! Go re-read the chapter on Why you shouldn't read the news in that book The Art of Thinking Clearly.

10.30pm: put on clean nightdress and get into freshly changed bed complete with normal-weight duvet instead of thin summer one. Open Agatha Christie.

10.32pm: hot flush. Get out of bed, drink cold water, visit bathroom.

Repeat.

Commiserations xx

There's a certain type of song that has become really popular in advertising that I call the John Lewis cover song.

It's generally a young lady singing a slow soft ethereal cover version.

Current examples are "Stand by Me" in a Nescafe ad. "Send in the Clowns" in a car ad and "Ready or Not" in a Green and Blacks ad.

I am usually subjected to this at least twice when I visit the cinema.

    • The residents & families of the estate are getting parking fines,  out of the blue , the residents parking system waa changed from Southern to Sippi with cameras put up in the car park and people issued with fines entering the estate for more then 10 minutes , families can no longer pick up or drop off family due to a new 10 minute wait fine. Residents are appealing with Sippi and Southern as there was no letters to consult of a parking change,  new waiting times or fines, delivery drivers are getting fines everyday,  if you get a fine,  appeal it, there is no signage up to say about parking fines or waiting time
    • Threads that devolve like this should be moved to the Lounge, so the 'comedy' can continue in an appropriate vacuum.
    • How very dare you. Rest assured, if it were intended to be comedy, it would have been funny.
    • I hadn't looked at the actual posts on Instagram. That's sad, then. The shop opening hours are still shown at the top of the page. I  guess changing them wasn't uppermost in her mind under the circumstances.
