I've got a toddler and my OAP parents to entertain this weekend. I figured there'd be lots going on in the local area but am really struggling beyond what's on at the DPG and the various goings on at the local pubs (which aren't any good for the toddler). Saw a poster in Bushell's window for the Crystal Palace Easter Carnival - anyone know more about that? Or indeed anyone have any useful suggestions as to what's going on in East Dulwich and environs?

Hi Jamma,

The Herne Tavern is very family friendly with a lovely big garden which has a climbing frame. They are holding an easter egg hunt on Sat 11th and there will be a mini makeover photo studio with dressing up and face painting. Kind of, but with a few more men with their shirts off, and it's on til 3 am ; )

Get yourself down to the Crapitol (J.D Wetherspoons) on London rd Forest hill for an afternoon session that involves sitting in a deathly silent shithole where the only other drinkers livers paked in years ago and are only being kept alive by the heat of the radiator and ramnble random and bizzare Mick Oirish drivle into their pint glass pausing only to give the dog a 'Top up'. You'll then feel the overwhelming sense doom and wasted opportunity sweeping through your body only being broken from the spell once you've seen a pidgeon shit in your pint.

Beers cheap though.

Hey, that sounds good :))

Weekend solved then :)-D

LONDON is on at the weekend.

Loads of free things to do.

Just get a bus to the river and walk and explore and have fun.

After tomorrow, the weather looks GREAT.

Go to Mudchute City Farm Isle of Dogs. About 4pm they feed the llamas and they come out and say hello.

    • Well according to a newspaper article, Gail’s is opening 10 shops in London,,, yup Dulwich is named 10/5 I seem to recall with others in London opening at 7 am…!, Guess that is to capture workers coming off all night shift. Offering free mince pies until they run out.. So very sad to hear about Romeo Jones… been a customer since the opening, any idea where Patrick has gone or details… please pm me.    What is going to be in its place…. Will be around in Jan…umm village is changing….
    • interesting the police said "the car was in demand at the moment" what make/model is that?
    • Just be careful to know exactly what they cover and the limits. i use Many Pets and Medivet, as I think one of the vets is exceptionally good. Some of the NHV are, but I’ve had a couple I’ve not liked at all.  I need consistency and to feel that they actually care more about the animals than the money.
    • I haven't used them myself but I noticed recently that "Snoots" in Forest Hill is going unlimited primary care for £33/month, so basically a subscription. Easy access on the 176 from East Dulwich. I have no idea what it includes so read the contract! It's a chain but only 5 branches so not a mega corporate. 🤷‍♂️ https://www.snootsvet.com/find-us
