At least Tesco will keep is forecourts clean and not have grubby white vans parking outside, blocking the road on an all-too regular basis, nor throw refuse such as bits of dead animals, rotten fruit and veg or cardboard boxes onto the pavement and the roadway, a la Rye Lane vendors.

    • I'm not sure what to make of that, Sue  "the Lambeth Country Show will not take place in June 2026."   It's been going for over 50 years. Seems a shame to bin that one off in favour of the other four festivals.
    • We did fine for 300 years with the Royal Mail before the current "competitive" shambles was introduced.     • That's certainly the narrative that runs ad infinitum on the Forum but I wonder how true it is. Speaking for myself I'm very happy M&S, Superdrug, Pret and, in the last century, Sainsbury's arrived and judging from the business they do I'm not alone.
