New Tesco in Peckham

Travelling through Peckham yesterday evening, it appears as though Tesco have aquired the site next door to the old Co-oP building at the Heaton Arems. It has a big hoarding around the site announcing Tesco's acquisition?

Has anyone else seen the "Banksy-style" grafitti on the wall of Whitten Timber that backs on the grass behind the Peckham Library - its a picture of a Tank with the Tesco logo on the side. Looks like they're none to happy.

At least Tesco will keep is forecourts clean and not have grubby white vans parking outside, blocking the road on an all-too regular basis, nor throw refuse such as bits of dead animals, rotten fruit and veg or cardboard boxes onto the pavement and the roadway, a la Rye Lane vendors.

New Tesco just opened near me on Kirkdale, and I'm well chuffed. Frankly I was fed up of being ripped off in the local Cost Cutter.
