Another +1 for Jon Peck at Colin White associates. Used him a while back for a flat purchase and was really happy with the service he provided. Quick, efficient, and an in depth but easy to understand report for those not in the know with building jargon. Reasonable price too in comparison to others.

I just want to add my thumbs up for Jon, he's lovely. He did a valuation for my property when I was redeeming some of the government loan in it - and this week, he did a survey for our building for buildings insurance purposes and also a review of building work we are undertaking.

He is really quick, efficient, explains everything and simply helpful.

I just spoke to Jon Peck about a crack that's recently opened up in our house and he was incredibly helpful, gave me some very useful advice and some contact details of people who could help fix it over the phone and said I had no need for him to come round and charge me for a report because he would just be putting in the report the same things he was telling me on the phone and he didn't charge me anything. Based on that conversation I would recommend him as someone very honest, helpful and fair and a thoroughly nice man. Thank you for the recommendations.

    • Ha ha that's hilarious - how wonderfully embarrassing for Reform!
    • Closing down completely. The lovely people there are all retiring. Thanks, but Deptford is a long way to go to make two journeys to  take and collect a car! Do they not do even relatively minor repairs if it fails its MOT first time? Then that would require four journeys 😭 Wondering if there's already a thread on here for garage recommendations? People on my road WhatsApp group have recommended some local ones. I'm particularly gutted because apart from the lovely people who worked there,  Dell was a five minute walk for me!
    • I did think that might be the reason, but five years out of seven it's going to be a weekday (I think. Not sure how leap years might affect things!)
    • Probably because the 5th was a weekday. We still have the weekend to come. Also, some fireworks going off nearly every night for the last few months. Last night something was being let off that made a very deep booming noise every 10 seconds or so. That said, if the general public are beginning to see the harm done by firework noise and choosing to use low noise options and refusing to support organised events that still use the full throttle type, I for one would be very happy. Does anyone know if the Herne Hill Velodrome Halloween fireworks event used low noise options?
