Netbooks!

Does anyone here own a Netbook? I have a normal sized laptop (approx 14 inch screen) but I'd like something very portable that I can carry in my bag and use for writing in cafes and so on. Would a Netbook fit the bill? I don't need it for much else than to run Word and write - don't need fancy graphics etc.

The samsung is a great little machine, but be warned, there is no optical drive for cd/dvd, as is the case with most netbooks.

I've got a dell mini inspiron (cost 150 quid when they had an offer on) and a asus eee pc, both running linux. Both v light and v long battery life. I wouldn't use them for running large spreadsheets, but you can surf the web as well as a proper pc and use office software fine. A netbook sounds perfect for what you need.

My son has the little compaq as mentioned by bonyard and he loves it. I find the screen abit too small for my liking but then I'm getting on abit!

I got a sony Vio vgn p11z last week but battery life just under 3 hours unless you get the longer life battery.
