My wife recently bid on an item (an in car mobile phone charger) on which she was the only bidder and she "won" it for 1p!!!!

She was pleased - I told her the buyer would never bother to send it for 1p - However it arrived today and it had come from Hong Kong!!!

How nice it is to see someone on Ebay who sticks by the moral code of the website - if anyone ever deserved positive feedback this was it.

Mick Mac, nice little tickle there. However as Anna has mentioned many vendors on EBay make up their profit on P&P.

Not that that should matter, if you get a bargain and the seller makes a quid or thirty bob on the transaction, oisy doisy doh, everyones a winner.

Lahvley. Sweet as.

The postage was ?1.49 - not bad for airmail from Hong Kong - The envelope had HK Dollar 4.10 in stamps - so someone can tell me if there was a postage profit or not. Anyway someone in Hong Kong (Jenny Leung - address provided!) sent it and she went to the bother of going to the local post office to arrnage it for "feck all". And it came with a little typed note. Great.

(Makes mental note to visit Hong Kong soon and see what Jenny looks like).

I once tried to buy a bean bag gun from an internet site in Holland but it was seized by Customs and Exise and they subjected me to a severe arse fcuking as well for trying to import a prohibited weapon. It was on sale for 20 euro's and seemed like a bargain.

I got my crossbow for ?40 from a firm in Yorkshire who were having a clearance sale. Still got it and it can go through a car door at ten paces.

I agree. It's poor down South and really should be half chips, half rice.

    • I always like Redemptions coffee though I've not visted for awhile..Romeo Jones was always my 1st choice for takeout Coffee Redemption 2nd. What IS with all these independent Yoga and Pilates Studios? Theres one on London Rd in Forest Hill (Mind) thats recently opened and then theres the Pilates place thats opened on North X Road. I looked at the prices of the one on NorthX road and was frankly shocked at how expensive it is, The FH one is slightly less.  Made me decide to stick with classes in The local authority gym
    • Dulwich Village update: The old DVillage location is (again?) under offer. The storefront next to the new grocer is going to open as a yoga and pilates studio...the name of which I've forgotten. 🤦‍♂️  Megan's is starting to push its takeaway coffee and cannibalise some of Redemption Coffee's market share. Is Megan's struggling? It's quite a big restaurant they have and rent cant be cheap. The reinventing of the Megan's branch on Lordship Lane as Ollie's seems to have stalled. And Redemption is looking a bit tired these days...
    • You're being a bit of a dick. The whole point of a forum is to discuss what is going on in the locality and this seems as reasonable a question as anything.
