We are planning to visit disneyland Paris for a day on our way back home. We need to stay for two nights in the area. Any tips? We are family of four- two girls 7/5. I would love to do it as cheap as possible, but also as we are highly unlikely to return to the palace of dreams- would like it to be an enjoyable experience.

We stayed at the Davey Crockett ranch/lodges when we went. You still get the extra hours and parking at the park is included but it was significantly cheaper than the hotels in the park. If you have a car with you the journey is very easy between the accomadation and the park.

The kids did rename it 'the shed' but they has everything you need.

One more vote for the Davy Crockett, we liked it cos the kids had their room and there was another room for us as well as a living area/kitchen so didn't need to go to bed when they did.

Hope you enjoy our kids were 2 and 4 1/2 when we went and we had a wonderful time (enjoyed it much more than expected!)

we stayed at the Explorers hotel- as it was significantly cheaper than the Disney hotel but still affiliated with it. It has a regular shuttle bus that takes approx 5-10 min to get to Disney.

The pirate ship in the indoor swimming pool completely sold it for my girls who were 7 and 5 when we went last year- would thoroughly recommend.

Breakfast is great and there is an outdoor play area as well if you don't want to be at Disney all day.

My girls loved the explorers hotel. Cheap and cheerful. Basic rooms but two fab pirate ships (one in the lobby and one outdoors), a soft play area and a large swimming pool with slides etc. one of mine has allergies and they were very accommodating with the manager making her meals and storing and warming food brought from home. This made a huge difference to our trip.

Shuttle bus to the parks and nice to be away from the parks in the evening actually.

Didn't like the bedding and the bath was tiny, but then you get what you pay for when it comes to the rooms.

We stayed in an Air BNB apartment in Chessy, one stop 3 minutes on RER train from Disneyland.

Obviously didn't have the magic or facilities like pools etc of some of the hotels but meant we could self cater, taking picnics each day and had space to relax after children had gone to bed. As we were a large group (4 children) it was significantly cheaper than any hotel I could find at the time and made it possible. They all loved the parks but great for us to have a quiet base at the end of each day.

We stayed at explorers as well. Had adjoining room for the girls with bunk beds. They loved the pool and the soft play. One night getting back from Disney the shuttles were so busy we had to walk but it's not far. If you time it right and don't leave when everyone else is its fine.

Thank you for all of your postings. As I really do not intend to return, we've gone for a two night stay at a Davey Crocket lodge, half board plus:) Mickey cafe character meal here we come.

I'm currently stocking up on disney stuff 'a la' ed charity shops?. Also we'll take the Elsa dresses?. The children will love it!

We had a fantastic time and I hope you do to!

We were given advise before we went and so took lots of fruit with us and water bottles.

We used the ice from the hotel ice machine to keep things cool and made snacks from the breakfast buffet to get us through the day, without having to eat their not very healthy on-site lunches.

Probably saved a fortune as bottles of water were 5 Euros each. It's a cornered market once you're there - very pricey and no alternatives unless you go outside...

The hotels were fantastic and really easy to get around, whereever you stay!

    • Many years ago, I actually cooked a meal for all who wanted to come ….. In this day and age, with social media being in our faces..yes, I don’t live in ED, but visit,  why doesn’t Christian spirit happen? I would think, few people even know their neighbours…. Life, busy etc. We all live in one world..human kindness is all around..In a city, people are scared to make human contact, especially when who knows what might happen. Can clearly remember, coming back in summer with friends,  side door had been jimmied.. nothing was taken from inside.. When I lived in ED and when I visit, it is Me who starts a conversation.. never know where that might lead, or in deed where it might take one.. Notice my post, in general did not have response I was hoping for .. that is fine.. So, Will start again, and ask personally.how can I thank or make a donation to keep forum going.. We should be proud, to have a forum like this..
