"Mockney piers is the forums prince among men."

Cripes, that's a lot to live up to!!!

The way to a man's heart is clearly through his whisky penchant ;-P

I'd also go with Michael Paleagolus(sic) is our resident charming wit (and can have a man killed for the right price)

welcome Barty

The forum is kept in impeccable order so don't be surprised if one of your posts magically disappears to another section. Don't be offended if you start a thread on what you think is an extremely important point to be met with the first reply saying something like - 'here we go again' and then a link to a 20 page thread on same point - even if it was last discussed 2 years ago.

For me the best thing about the forum is the wanted/offered - I've managed to get rid of lots of junk and also found decent pest control, handymen, got someone to buy something in ikea for me and had great meals out - to the point where my boyfriend is driven mad by me saying 'well on the forum .. . .'

have fun

That's fine, as long as you can cope with me going "Where did my post on xxxxxx end up"!!!!

That's fine, as long as you can cope with me dredging up ancient threads so I can talk about something which interests me but you lot were last discussing 2 years ago!!!!

My fiancee has been known to be driven mad by the exact same thing.....

Oh yes. Fun is something it's definately gonna be :))

Ha ha, absolutely spot on JB! >:D<

Drinks are held on the first Friday of the Month. EXCEPT during the Summer when it is the first Saturday of the month and start in the afternoon. Usually a good turn out of many of the names mentioned. Keep an eye out in the The Lounge for details - next one is on 4 July at The Rye Hotel. I have the list of future venues in my wallet and occasionally, for money, allow people to have a sneaky peek. Otherwise they are a state secret, in case we get a better offer from another venue.

Curry Club is usually the last week of the month and attracts a variable number (anywhere between 20 and 4) depending on how skint people are. In July we might do a crafty mid-month one though as I missed last nights and I organised the feckin' thing.

Occasionally a thread called "The Quiet Room" reappears for a brief burst of surrealist humour and virtual debauchery before it sinks again into the the Forum's depths. Much like Moby Dick or Brigadoon...

EDIT: Hmmmmmmmmmm ......

    • Honestly, the squirrels are not a problem now.  They only eat what has dropped.  The feeders I have are squirrel proof anyway from pre-cage times.  I have never seen rats in the garden, and even when I didn't have the cage.  I most certainly would have noticed them.  I do have a little family of mice which I have zero problem about.  If they stay outside, that's fine with me.  Plus, local cats keep that population down.  There are rats everywhere in London, there is plenty of food rubbish out in the street to keep them happy.  So, I guess you could fit extra bars to the cage if you wanted to, but then you run the risk of the birds not getting in.  They like to be able to fly in and out easily, which they do.
    • Ahh, the old "it's only three days" chestnut.  I do hope you realise the big metal walls, stages, tents, toilets, lighting, sound equipment, refreshments, concessions etc don't just magically appear & disappear overnight? You know it all has to be transported in & erected, constructed? And that when stuff is constructed, like on a construction site, it's quite noisy & distracting? Banging, crashing, shouting, heavy plant moving around - beep beep beep reversing signals, engines revving - pneumatic tools? For 8 to 10 hours a day, every day? And that it tends to go on for two or three weeks before an event, and a week after when they take it all down again? I'm sure my boys' GCSE prep won't be affected by any of that, especially if we close the windows (before someone suggests that as a resolution). I'm sure it won't affect anyone at the Harris schools either, actually taking their exams with that background noise.
