anyone ride to work - with their suit/shirt in a rucksack?

Recommended Posts

I use paniers and fold my suit up in a way that it doesn't get creased. I have two panniers so if I have to get shopping on the way home, or need to take anything heavy to work, I use one for my suit and one for other stuff. I also leave a couple of pairs of shoes in my desk so I don't have to carry them! Got a shower at work too, so I look fresh as a daisy when I get to my desk.

You getting deep on us there BBW?

I'm with the whole leaving clothes at work (I do it all the time - mostly coz of my absentmindedness you must understand) or a travel iron (that you can leave at work).

Avoid leaving clothes in damp or musty areas tho... wiv that style ya got going like... ;-)

If you must carry them, then for the jacket, turn it inside out and fold it in half vertically so that one shoulder fits inside the other shoulder. Then roll it gently from the top.

For the shirts then there's a few stripy stay-pressed brands you can buy that will look alright after 30 mins or so.

However, there's no beating keeping them all at work. I do recommend appropriating a cupboard as the boss'll get pissy if you're hanging dry cleaning off hooks everywhere.

    • Sorry if the answer to this has been posted before, but I have done a search and I can't find it. Is the hospice shop accepting books (and books of music) at the moment?
    • I echo the previous recommendation of Aria. I have used his services on several occasions now and I am always impressed by 1) the speed of his response,  2) his honest pricing,  3) the quality of his interventions.  I had a washing machine crisis the other day where my old appliance started leaking badly and into the flat below.  Aria can within an hour of my call and sorted the whole thing immediately.  Impressive! Highly recommended!
    • Helen Hayes has represented Dulwich and West Norwood since the boundary change in 2024. The OP said Helen had already contacted Capita on their behalf, so I'm guessing she is their MP, otherwise she would have directed them to the appropriate person (unless she was particularly keen to take on extra work!)
    • Hi there. I need to move and it doesn't feel very eco friendly to buy boxes - if anyone has any I could reuse?  Happy to return once I've moved if you want to keep them! I'm moving Feb 26th so I'd be looking for some to use before then. Thank you! Kate
